Characters that will shine in Solo Leveling Season 2

The first season focused on Jinwoo's journey from a helpless E-class hunter to someone who can unleash his power against ferocious dungeon monsters. The second season tells the story of his rise to the pinnacle of unstoppable power as an S-class hunter. So, quite a few new characters will be introduced in the new season. Among them, we introduce eight characters who will shine the most. Please note that this content is based on the original webtoon, so there may be minor spoilers. Therefore, if you only want to watch the animation, please proceed with caution.

Choi Jong-in

S-class guild master of the Hunter Guild

• First appearance: Episode 62

Choi Jong-in is the master of the Hunter Guild, the largest guild in Korea. This guild has two S-class hunters, A-class hunters, and numerous B-class hunters. That is why it is the only guild in the country that has two strike teams.

At the center of the Hunter Guild is its owner, Choi Jong-in. He is an S-class fire mage who specializes in wide-range attacks. In season 2, he will show off some firepower, but we won't be able to see Choi Jong-in use it to his fullest. However, attention is being paid to who will engage in a delightful bidding war with Baek Yun-ho to get Seong Jin-woo to join the guild first.

Hwang Dong-su

S-class hunter from the Cleaners Guild

Hwang Dong-su is a Korean-born S-rank hunter who decided to join the Cleaners' Guild, a famous guild in the United States. This decision sparked outrage among the Korean people, with some calling him a traitor. Hwang Dong-soo himself is a proud and arrogant man. He knows he is powerful and will not hesitate to threaten people with his power.

Hwang Dong-su has a brother named Hwang Dong-seok, and Hwang Dong-seok was actually a cruel man whom Jin-woo killed in the dungeon in Season 1. The purpose of Hwang Dong-soo's appearance in Season 2 is to hunt down Sung Jin-woo, who killed his brother.

Baek Yunho

S-rank guild master of the White Tiger Guild

• First appearance: Episode 47

Baek Yun-ho is an S-class hunter and the master of the Baekho Guild, the second largest guild in Korea. He is a warrior who can transform into a magical white beast. The change occurs gradually, and the closer he gets to the White Beast's prototype, the stronger he becomes.

Like Choi Jong-in, Baek Yun-ho will not be able to see his full potential in Season 2. As mentioned earlier, Baek Yun-ho mainly appears in the role of guild master, especially in his attempts to recruit Seong Jin-woo to his guild. If so, we will be able to get a glimpse of Baek Yun-ho's martial arts skills in a close match with another S-class hunter, Hwang Dong-su.

Cha Hae-in

Hunter Guild's S-Class Deputy Guild Master

Cha Hae-in is an S-class hunter and deputy guild master of the Hunters Guild. Despite being the youngest S-class hunter in the world, Cha Hae-in is actually one of the top 3 most powerful S-class hunters in Korea. In fact, there are claims that she is stronger than the guild master Choi Jong-in. However, since Cha Hae-in is a martial artist who specializes in swordsmanship, his role is different from heavy hitter Choi Jong-in, so it is actually difficult to compare the two.

Cha Hae-in appears around the same time as Choi Jong-in. However, unlike the guild master, Cha Hae-in is more interested in Seong Jin-woo as a human being than as a hunter. In Season 2, we will not be able to see Cha Hae-in displaying all of his abilities, but we will be able to see him destroying monsters in the dungeon.

Go Geon-hee

Korea Hunter Association S-Class President

Go Geon-hee is an S-class hunter and the president of the Korea Hunter Association. Already in his 80s, he is one of the oldest S-class hunters in the world. However, despite his old age, Go Kun-hee is still a threatening man with his towering height and body like a wrestling figure.

Go Kun-hee is still S-rank, but is no longer active on the front lines. His interest lies in fostering and regulating Korea's numerous active hunters. In Season 2, Go Geon-hee was one of the first to acknowledge Sung Jin-woo's power.

Baran and Dungeon Boss

Most of the characters mentioned above are good people. Now it's time to talk about the villain who will be the highlight of the second season. So who is Jinwoo's biggest enemy in Season 2? The answer, of course, is dungeon monsters, especially powerful dungeon bosses.

Season 2 features a wide variety of dangerous and powerful dungeon bosses. There is Baruka, an ice elf who rules the snowy forests of the Red Dungeon and fights against ice daggers. There is a boss on the 50th floor of the Demon King Castle, Vulkan, who moves at incredible speed despite his huge body. However, the most memorable enemy in Season 2 is the Demon King Baran. Riding a menacing wyvern, he attacks Jinwoo from above with a thunderous long sword. This fight will definitely be the most exciting part of season 2.

Igris and the Shadow Soldiers

As the name suggests, solo leveling is a story that focuses on the protagonist's solo journey to challenge dungeons, defeat monsters, and level up. As such, most of the story will be about the protagonist Seong Jin-woo himself. However, as we saw at the end of Season 1, Seong Jin-woo will not be able to go through this difficult path alone. He will fight alongside the shadow soldiers.

His first proper Shadow Solider is none other than Red Knight Igriss. Igriss will take on a much more important role in Jinwoo's increasingly dangerous dungeon dives in Season 2. Additionally, Jinwoo will add more trustworthy Shadow Soldiers to his army, such as Iron the Warrior, Tank the Mad Beast, and Tusk the Fearsome Mage. His exploits with the Lord of Shadow will certainly be the highlight of Season 2.

Jinwoo Seong

Korea’s 10th ranked S-class hunter

Of course, the character that will shine the most in season 2 is solo leveling The main character is Seong Jin-woo, the 10th ranked S-class hunter in Korea. In Season 2, our hero will experience the biggest change in his life. This applies not only to strength, but also to personality and appearance.

Eventually, as he raids dungeon after dungeon and fights fearsome monsters every day, some big changes are bound to occur. We'll have a calmer, more calculating, leaner, more muscular, and certainly much deadlier version of Sung Jin-Woo.
