Blue Lock Season 2 is off to a strong start
Blue Lock Season 2 begins with intense emotions and fierce competition, setting the stage for an epic showdown with Japan U-20.
Team A, Team B selection
Isagi wants to prove himself.
The episode begins with players being randomly selected into Teams A and B from among the remaining members of Blue Lock. Nanase Nijiro, Hiori Yo, and Isagi are chosen to join Rin and Shidou in Team A. Isagi's initial reaction was not to consider them friends. However, as rivals and stepping stones, they are people who want to become stronger, but when they were introduced, their perspective on them completely changed, and they were surprised to find that there were players around them who treated them favorably, comparing them to Rin. Barou always treated him as a threat, which was not only funny but also set a good tone for the episode.
Kyohei and Kairu, who everyone considers giants, were selected for Team B. When entering the stadium, even Karasu and Otoya say that they will go on defense and their best players will be responsible for the goals. The first whistle blows, and immediately afterwards Rin and Shido take the lead, and Isagi ponders having to adapt to their attacking patterns.
Aggression and Ego
Clash between top players
The constant tug-of-war between individual excellence and the power of teamwork is the highlight of this episode. Team A is full of stars, but they miss out on many opportunities because they refuse to cooperate. Meanwhile, Team B, which lacks star power, uses synergy to exploit the lack of cohesion among Team A members. Shidou starts the match strong, surprising everyone, especially Isagi, with an insane backheel goal. Karasu noticed that Shidou had a good physique for scoring goals, but his defense was weak. Karasu then targets Isagi, calling him the weakest link on the team and saying that he always targets weaknesses rather than strengths until his opponents give up and win. Karasu says Isagi levels up with his strong teammates, but without them he is just average. His team tries to help Isagi, but Isagi is focused on Karasu.
The game continues and Karasu attacks Isagi once again, this time with Rin blocking the way to him. He completely loses faith in Isagi and doesn't pass him the ball at all. Rin passes to Hiori instead. Hiori imitates Isagi's one-two pass move, which impresses him. Otoya confronts him and calls him Mr. They tease him by calling him Genius' younger brother. Shidou and Chigiri both ran towards him. He is completely focused on the goal, baits everyone and completely ignores them, shooting directly at the goal and scoring the perfect goal.
The biggest highlight of the episode
Chigiri prove himself
Watching the best players compete, Isagi couldn't help but feel left out. Chigiri looks at Isagi and has known him long enough to realize that he is disappointing himself because he is doing the same thing, but he also knows that only the four top 6 players can achieve anything and everyone else is useless. I understand that. Isagi constantly tries to move forward and prove himself, but is unable to accomplish anything. Chigiri, on the other hand, is hesitant to put himself out there for fear that it will only serve as bait. Instead, he will focus on what he can do now.
When he sees an empty space, he tries to avoid the center because it is too crowded. He turned to the right, which brought him into close contact with Isagi. Chirigi is looking to carve up the field at an incredible pace. Chigiri passed Isagi in a surprising move that impressed Karasu, and Karasu decided to pass the ball to Chigiri to give him a chance. Chigiri completes the pass, but Rin immediately confronts him. Chigiri sensed that Otoya had arrived to help him and passed the ball to Otoya, successfully avoiding Rin. Otoya uses Chigiri's speed as momentum to complete the pass and score.
Teamwork vs Ego
When the best players prefer pride over winning
The game continues, with Rin passing to Hiori and Isagi being ignored once again. Isagi, watching Hiori do everything she can to participate, decides to do the same, putting herself in front of her goal and waiting for her chance. Karasu attacks him again, seeing through his ruse. Isagi tried to avoid him but failed. Hiori passes it to Rin, but Shido tries to steal it himself, ruining his chance at a goal.
Chigiri steals and passes to Otoya, who passes to Karasu. Karasu then scored team B's fourth point. Isagi is shocked at how bad this is, but is also confused as to why Rin and Shidou are at odds with each other and how Blue Lock's best players cannot work together. However, Rin and Shidou glare at each other and both think it's their credit. Isagi now realizes that he has the worst compatibility among his top six products. He then connects with Isagi. This is something he can use to his advantage.
Poor animation quality
From smooth animations to moving images
This episode depicts very well the psychological warfare that must take place between the players. However, it's crazy that the animation quality will suffer due to the release date and production restrictions, as fans have already been worried and concerned by the trailers. Most of the episode is still shots that visualize what the player is trying to do with little action or animation. The weapons and movements are really just fast-moving images. Even the biggest highlight of the episode was when Chigiri used his insane speed to prove himself to the best fighters. It felt really bland and the only saving grace would be some framed detailed character shots, especially Isagi's ending scene. But here's hoping it's either an uphill climb or fans are a bit disappointed.
Another thing that goes against this is speed. While the match itself played up its intensity nicely, some of these dialogue scenes did drag a little and as a result the momentum of the episode stalled, leaving Isagi, like most of the episode, in shock throughout. Instead of acting on something, he aligns and thinks about what he should do. This problem can be smoothed out by cutting out some of the match scenes to maintain the high energy.
Inconsistent animation and some pacing issues keep this episode from really shining. Indeed, while the character dynamics and match choreography are engaging, these technical shortcomings ultimately drag down what could have been a great watch. anyway, blue rock This is a must-see for sports anime fans. Episode 2 is based around some really cool football scenes. It will also be interesting to see how the characters change as the season progresses. Team A members in particular must learn to bury their pride if they are to succeed on the Blue Lock project.
