Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson has a long track record of reliable leaks. When his claims don't come true, most of us tend to think there has been an unexpected internal change. So most of what he says is simple. do And the unpredictable factor of changing a developer's mind is one thing even Henderson can't address in his report.
A recent eye-catcher from Insider Gaming's podcast revealed that Assassin's Creed: Black Flag won't be the only classic game in Ubisoft's long-running franchise to receive the “resynchronization” treatment.

On Saturday's podcast episode, Henderson and his team discussed the possibility of DLC for Black Flag Resynced. Or rather, the lack of it. Henderson says on good authority that there is no DLC in the works, with the explicit caveat that if the remake sells like gangbusters beyond expectations, they'll probably get a group of developers together a few years from now to do something about it.
But this discourse led to something bigger from the leaker.
“We have another Assassin’s Creed remake in the works, one of our early ones, and we’ll be revisiting the series based on Black Flag to see what other remakes we can make.”
“Based on Black Flag” is related to the previous correlation. Ubisoft needs to make sure it recovers all the money it spent on Resynced. (For my money, that's likely the case.) Being in the early stages of development and seeing it through to launch are two very different things. Henderson cites six to seven years of development hell for the Splinter Cell remake, not to mention the historically poor cancellation of The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. But it still shows more than the global publishing giant's basic interest in revisiting Assassin's Creed's past.
Which of these “early releases” is Ubisoft dealing with now? I'm already seeing people declare that it is, without a hint of irony. surely Whether it's Altair's franchise-launching adventures or Ezio's –definition continue. I'd say it won't be one of Ezio's sequels, Brotherhood or Revelations. Because it's a bit weird. Maybe Assassin's Creed 3 or Unity. Do you think it's more likely AC1 or AC2? Yes, of course. is it so. But wouldn't you like to see a version of AC3 or AC5 (Unity) that isn't ruined by little things? Paris deserved better.
It's telling that we won't hear much else on this front for a while, and given Ubi's checkered record, we'd suggest keeping in mind that a future Assassin's Creed remake isn't guaranteed, even with the explicit understanding that Tom Henderson is currently working on it. Likewise, we'll see where it all is.
Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced launches on July 9 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
