Battlefield 6 has been in fans' hands for a few days now, and while there's an overall positive vibe about the game as a whole (that things are going to be better than they were in 2042), there's clearly a thing or two that EA developers could do to address sooner rather than later.
Dodge hit registration is one such problem. There have been several reports of players shooting at enemies but not doing any damage, only blood flying out. Unlike most first-person shooters, Battlefield 6 strives for realism by implementing a “bloom” system. This system reduces the weapon's accuracy the more it is fired. It's similar to recoil, but the scope is still aimed at the target you're shooting.
Essentially, the game's bloom system appears to cause weapons to miss more often than expected, an issue first brought up by a Reddit user named KaiKamakasi. They shared a clip of them firing a G36 at a dead enemy on the Battlefield subreddit, but nothing happened to them.
Battlefield 6 Developer Dice Is Working To Fix Hit Registration Issues
Thankfully, this video in particular caught the attention of DICE game designer Florian Le Bihan (thanks to PC Gamer), who asked others in the Battlefield community for similar examples to see if this was a common problem. This is indeed the case, as many examples were sent to Le Bihan and could be found on various social media websites.
Enough cases have been discovered for Le Vian to properly begin investigating the issue, and now DICE appears to have acknowledged it as an official issue. Unfortunately, no exact timeline has been given for when the issue will be fixed, but hopefully it will be fixed once the game's next patch is released. Until then, try to console yourself with the fact that your goal isn't actually shit and the game is currently actively fighting you.
