Players will need a “one-time” connection to the internet to authenticate the game via Ubisoft Connect, but things got worse over the first weekend after the game's release. Ubisoft Connect has an offline mode, but operation history may be incorrect or missing. This mainly happened last weekend when the server suddenly went offline. Instead of allowing players to remain in the game, the hour-long outage left them unable to access the game at all, making it unplayable on PC. Naturally, the incident sparked a surge of disgruntled posts online and even a barrage of reviews on Steam, which has since gone back to normal. It's unknown if this is simply a technical issue or if the game is actually intended for PC players. At the time of publication, Ubisoft has not yet resolved this case.
