Of course, we're talking about Overwatch 2's annual Winter Wonderland event, which sees the return of fan-favorite game modes and tons of goodies for new and experienced players alike. So put on your snow boots, roll some snowballs, and try not to freeze outside. There is a lot to enjoy.
What is Frozen?
Every December, Overwatch returns to the arcade with several seasonal game modes along with regular challenges. This year's Frozen event will run from December 10th to January 6th. So you will have plenty of time to feel the spirit of the season. Here's what to expect this year:

Mei's Snowball Offensive/Snowball Deathmatch |
It's an incredibly tense and tactical snowball fight where everyone plays as Mei with modified abilities. Instead of the usual freezing spray and charged icicle shots, You get one snowball that instantly knocks down any enemy it hits. Once you've fired, you'll need to reload in one of the snow piles scattered across the map. Instead of freezing enemies in a large area, the ultimate grants infinite snowballs for a few seconds. Snowball Offensive is a team game, while Snowball Deathmatch is a brawl game. |

It's an asymmetrical game of cat and mouse across the Shambali Monastery. Five Mays hunt down one very tough Yeti, Winston. Try to trap and defeat him before you find pieces of meat scattered across the map. When a Yeti eats four pieces of meat, it enters a more powerful version of Primal Rage that can easily take down hunters. In this mode, Mei's ultimate is replaced with a giant steel trap, similar to Junkrat's ability of the same name. |

Freeze-thaw removal |
Want something a little more familiar? This mode is very similar to standard 5v5 lock removal. But with added winter vibes: Players who are “eliminated” are frozen instead of dead. Your allies will thaw out and you can rejoin the match. |
Although not technically part of Winter Wonderland, 6v6 is also back as a limited-time mode. It has the same duration as Winter Wonderland.
