Sunset Heights is the fourth level in Shadow's Story. Sonic. Despite its origins in the somewhat unpopular Sonic Forces, Sunset Heights is a beautifully designed stage with multiple paths and secrets to uncover.

Sonic' The Sunset Heights version has a total of 18 collection keys hidden for players to find. Tracking them down is important for unlocking music, artwork, and Shadow's Story, so this guide explains how to find the final key.

All Collection Keys for Sunset Heights – Act 1 of Sonic

Sunset Heights Act 1 is a fairly simple level at first glance, but there are a few secret paths if you get creative with Shadow's abilities. This section explains how to find all three collection keys.

How to get the green collection key

The first collection key for Sunset Heights Act 1 can be found in the section shown in image 1. Head to the high area where the two cannon robots are standing, but don't take out the one on the left. This is very important. The one on the left is firing cannonballs up to a raised area that is pretty hard to reach, so when you're near the raised section you'll need to use the Shadow's Homing attack to warp to one of the cannonballs and land there. It comes with a green collection key and a boost ring to get you back on the main path.

How to get the yellow collection key

The following collection keys can be found in the section shown in Image 1: You'll need to use Chaos Control to freeze one of the rocks the Death Egg robot throws at the marked location, then use its homing attack to get up. road. Follow it and use the ramp at the end to find a yellow collection key.

How to get the Blue Collection Key

The final collection key can be found in the underground area shown in image 1. Go down the right tunnel and use Doom Spears repeatedly to fend off Black Arms enemies and stun them with Doom Spears until you reach the point shown in image 2. . Once you're stunned, fire with the Doom Blast and aim as shown in picture 3 to blast through the wall and reach a hidden area with a blue collection key.

Sunset Heights Act 2 is a challenging 2D act with several alternate paths through each section. So here's how to find the three hidden collection keys:

How to get the yellow collection key

To get the first collected key in Act 2, proceed through the level normally until you reach the point shown in image 1 above (after the Death Egg robot blows up several platforms and falls into the water). Attack the homing line. Flying enemies that launch through all enemies with a chain homing attack (similar to how Shadow deals with them back in Sonic Forces), then homing attack the next line and the line after that, launching Shadow into the upper path (Image 2) . There's a yellow collection key floating here, and you may get it by chance if you just use a chain homing attack to get up here.

How to get the green collection key

The next collection key is an easy one. Progress through the level until you reach the point shown above, then use the lowest grind rail you can whenever you get the chance until you reach the point shown in image 2. Step on the crates and go down and enter the water next to the green collection key.

How to get the Blue Collection Key

The blue collection key takes you much deeper into the level along the final section. When you reach the Death Egg robot shown in image 1, use Chaos Control to freeze its arm and climb onto it to take the upper path on the right. The grind rails along this path contain blue collectible keys.

There are four challenges across two acts of Sunset Heights, giving a total of 12 collection keys.

Act 1: All collection keys for Challenge 1 “Watch out for the spinning spikes”

To get the first collection key here, you need to reach the boost ring shown in image 1 before a moving block blocks it. Use the grind rail to get to a higher area and use it to get the blue Collect Key.

The next key to collect is right behind the grind rail mentioned earlier. Use the Chaos Sphere to activate the spring right in front of you, use it to reach the boost ring, and use Shadow's air boost to reach it if necessary. It will fire towards a spring, so bounce it off and use the Chaos Sphere to activate another spring that will fire a blue collection key right at you.

The final collection key is just a little closer. Near the end of the challenge, while riding a moving platform, you'll see a boost ring floating in the middle of the course. Hop on it and you'll be launched into the air, then homing in on the enemies here to bounce you up onto a high section where you'll find a yellow collection key.

All collection keys for Act 1: Challenge 2 “One Ring Challenge Lv 2”

The first collected key for this challenge can be found along the main path at the point shown above. Pick up this yellow collection key on your way.

The next collection key can be found in the section with the rotating spike obstacle shown above. You'll need to use the blue collection key to land on the platform and carefully time your jumps so you can safely jump back up without getting caught in the spikes.

The final collection key is located in the Platform section shown above. Hop on the moving platform and wait until it's underneath the blue collection key to take it.

All collection keys for Act 2: Challenge 1 “Death Egg Robot Panic!”

The first key to collect is along the main path. Hit the switch to make the Death Egg robots fire, then go through the hole they made to get the yellow collect key.

The second collection key can be found a little further on, and you'll need to hit three switches before the path to get there becomes clear. Luckily, they are all fairly easy to reach, so you'll need to attack them to continue along the main path.

The final collected key in this act is found at the end after hitting the switch and desperately chasing the way you came when a Death Egg robot blows your path. Hit the spring shown in the image to get a boost ring, which will get you the second blue collection key and the goal ring right away.

Act 2: All collection keys for Challenge 2 “Dash Ring Rush Lv2”

To get your first collection key here, proceed to the section shown above to get to the upper set of boost rings. You can get the yellow collection key right away.

The final collection key is a little trickier. To get higher, you need to bounce back and forth using the boost ring shown in image 1, and then use Shadow's air boost to hit the upper boost ring shown in image 2. You can get a blue collection key.
