Jujutsu Kaisen is a shonen manga series by Gege Akutami. The manga premiered on March 5, 2018 with issue 14 of Weekly Shonen Jump. The series ran for several years before concluding with volume 30 on September 30, 2024. Although the series was short, it was a huge success. On October 3, 2020, the series was adapted into a TV animation by the acclaimed MAPPA Studio. Jujutsu Kaisen returned for Season 2 in 2023, and most recently for Season 3 in 2026. The series still has a lot to offer and its next big project is Jujutsu Kaisen season 4, part 2 of the Culling Game.

On June 19, 2026, MAPPA held a major event to mark its 15th anniversary, and as expected, Jujutsu Kaisen was a major highlight as one of the studio's biggest animes. At this event, Jujutsu Kaisen finally released the latest trailer for season 4. This new trailer highlighted the prison area, a controversial JJK artifact involving Gojo. As we know, Gojo Satoru was sealed in this special cursed artifact during the Shibuya Incident. In the anime, a tragedy occurred in Season 2, Episode 9, and in the manga, a tragedy occurred in Episode 90. This cursed object was able to subdue the world's greatest wizard for a time, but now his return is imminent. The new Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 trailer focuses on this object for a big reason, and that's because Gojo will finally be released in Season 4, which is nearing its end.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 is already shaping up to be a shonen masterpiece. While rumors were swirling that the legendary Shota Goshozono would be leaving the production after Season 3, it was revealed in the official Season 4 trailer that he would once again return as Chief Director. Shouta Goshozono is one of the biggest names in the industry, and his presence in the upcoming season can only mean good things after the phenomenal work he did previously in seasons 2 and 3.

Other big names who participated in the production were also revealed. The director is Takeru Sato, and the character designs are by Yosuke Yajima, Hiromi Niwa, and Souta Yamazaki. Jujustu Kaisen season 4 looks promising, and the trailer only gives fans a glimpse of what's to come. The next season doesn't have a release date yet, but is expected to come out around 2027. It's likely to be released in early 2027, depending on broadcast availability and in time for Season 3's one-year anniversary. This next season is expected to be a short season of around 12 episodes. More information will be revealed at a future anime event in 2026.
