AMD And Microsoft is working together to bring Advanced Shader Delivery to more gaming devices, reducing load times and stuttering by up to 95% across a growing list of supported games. Advanced Shader Delivery is now supported on AMD graphics cards released in 2019 and later.

AMD continues to lag behind its main competitor, Nvidia, in the gaming GPU market, but that hasn't stopped the tech giant from influencing the gaming industry. Earlier this year, AMD announced that it recorded its largest financial quarter in the company's history in the first quarter of 2026, with revenue up 38% year-over-year. AMD's growth has been driven by demand for AI infrastructure. AMD's gaming range continues to grow, given that AMD processors will be used in the upcoming PS6 and Xbox Project Helix consoles.

Simply put, an AMD Radeon RX 5000 series card is the minimum GPU required to support Microsoft Advanced Shader Delivery. However, newer GPUs like the Radeon RX 9070 XT are still recommended for playing games at high frame rates and taking advantage of features like ray tracing in supported titles.

For users of Nvidia graphics cards, Nvidia said in March that Microsoft Advanced Shader Delivery would be supported in late 2026. However, the exact window was not provided.
