If I have one complaint about Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, aside from the fact that it may have overstayed its welcome, it's the fact that the Platinum Trophy isn't for the faint of heart.
In fact, it's particularly brutal among the Platinum Trophies, requiring essentially perfection in every aspect of the game, and it's already been a long time coming. Think about it. Naoki Hamaguchi knows that things may have been too difficult for even the most hardcore Final Fantasy players.
In a new interview with Restart.Run, first discovered by Push Square, Hamaguchi essentially apologized to Final Fantasy 7 fans for putting them through such an ordeal. When asked if there was anything he wanted to reevaluate, he immediately chose trophies.
“We prepared an incredible variety of content for Rebirth as an open-world game, and designed the overall game with the philosophy that players can choose what they want,” Hamaguchi explained. “However, the condition for completing the trophy is that all elements of the game must be completed perfectly, and in retrospect, it may have been a bit excessive.
“Our intention was to expand experiential freedom, but we may have unintentionally created a different kind of pressure.”

Forget reincarnation, the game I really want to see on Switch 2 is Final Fantasy 15.
Nintendo finally has a console powerful enough to handle some absolute classic games.
Things will change in the final installment of the trilogy
However, since the Final Fantasy 7 Remake project is a trilogy, fans can expect things to get easier each time the third installment is released. Or at least it's enjoyable.
“The final installment of the Remake Trilogy features a much more diverse world and game design filled with diverse content,” Hamaguchi said. “In line with this, we’ve done a thorough rebalancing of trophies to give more consideration to whether earning them is enjoyable in itself or limiting the breadth of the experience.”
According to PSNProfiles, which tracks currently registered users, only 12.31% of players have earned the game's Platinum Trophy. This applies to approximately 13,511 players. The Silver Trophy for “Completing all of Chadley's combat simulations” is the rarest in the game.
All of this sounds like music to a trophy hunter's ears, so I'm hoping for an easier Platinum.

Sorry console exclusive, I didn't mean all the horrible things I said about you.
I hope this doesn't start another console war…
