Gamers have been asking for more information about the build, and MegaSeneca has revealed it. MegaSeneca explained that it took about two weeks to build, despite splitting the time between other projects and tasks. I also don't have any footage of the base build, but I did share a video later showing how I finished the base build using a combination of painting, airbrushing, and sanding. The moving shield is even more impressive as it fully reveals the incredibly realistic luster of the “metal”.
Gaming fans have found all sorts of ways to recreate their favorite weapons, shields, and gadgets from games over the years, with many building game props using 3D printers. While others choose to use foam like MegaSeneca, some have even taken advantage of blacksmithing skills to create armor, weapons, and shields that actually work. Official replicas of the Hylian Shield have also been produced, but creating an item from scratch will provide the creator with a level of satisfaction that cannot be compared to a purchased version.
