One Piece Episode 1160 Review: Luffy Meets Loki

Luffy meets Loki for the first time

After escaping from the Block Kingdom, Luffy and his group reached a huge rope bridge and decided to cross it to see what was beyond. On the way, Luffy decided to jump down and look for the growling creature. He tells the rest of the group to continue and decides to track down the source of the noise.

As he continued walking, a pack of wolves decided to attack him, but stopped when they heard a loud scream. The minor hiccup didn't dampen Luffy's mood one bit and he just kept going. Eventually, he met Loki, who introduced himself as the man who would destroy the world. Loki also called himself the sun god.

Funnily enough, Loki is the second person to call himself the Sun God in the Elbaph arc. The first was apparently a giant who created the kingdom of blocks. He did everything to deceive people into believing that he was actually the sun god. Loki's comments made things even more interesting, and it looks like fans will learn more about the sun god in the Elbaph arc.

Is Loki a bad person?

When Luffy met Loki, the latter was chained. This is a strong indicator that Loki is not a good person. Additionally, several members of the Giant Warrior Pirates talked about Loki and had nothing good to say about him. They called him a power-hungry individual who wanted to create chaos. All the evidence points to Loki being a terrible person. So the question is, is he really a malicious individual?

The short answer is no. In One Piece, things are never that simple. Fans have seen it before where a character appears evil at first, but eventually becomes kind. So it's likely that Loki is actually innocent, and that claim is greatly exaggerated. But it won't happen that quickly, so fans will have to be patient.

Other standout moments from One Piece Episode 1160

After being implicated in the Egghead incident, the world's governments decided to increase the bounties on the two giants. As usual, the organization wanted to portray their opponents as evil and dangerous, so they offered a bounty of 1.8 billion Berries each for Dorry and Brogy. Strangely enough, the Straw Hats did not receive any new bounty. Although the world government accused Luffy of murdering Dr. Vegapunk, the smartest man in the world.

In this episode, it was also confirmed that the rest of the Straw Hats, who were traveling with the Giant Warrior Pirates, would not be looking for Luffy and the others. They were confident that their comrades could cope with any difficulty, so they would wait in Elbaf instead of looking for them. This was a logical choice since Luffy is a Yonko and his wings travel with him. No one in their right mind would want to touch them. Another important detail revealed in One Piece Chapter 1160 is that Hazruddin was the prince of Elbaf, which raises the question of why the royal family traveled so far and left their homeland defenseless.

Overall, the episode was great. Although it didn't have any intense action, it did reveal some important details related to the story. Hopefully, the anime will keep its momentum going from now on.
