Animation Characters Who Need Their Own Spinoff

Every anime has a ton of characters, but the focus is almost always on the main character, so why wouldn't that be the case? After all, they are one of the main focuses of the series. For this reason, many interesting secondary characters have to settle for limited screen time.

Lightning abilities are relatively common in One Piece, and quite a few characters make good use of this elemental ability.

Naturally, many fans were upset, but they had no choice but to accept the harsh reality. Over time, some writers actually put their best characters into spinoffs, which is enough to satisfy fans. But we still can't cover everything.

In a series as vast as One Piece, picking and choosing just one character for a spinoff is as tricky as a box of monkeys. However, if we throw away all prejudices, the most reasonable choice would be Pirate King Gol D. Roger.

Roger is an interesting character who, despite some similarities to Luffy, is quite different. He was an incredibly strong warrior who could take on the likes of Whitebeard, Garp, and Shiki. What makes Roger a great choice for a spinoff is that there's a lot fans still don't know about him. A new story could easily cover his early years as a pirate and the time he learned he had a terminal illness.

Minato Namikaze

The photo is of Naruto's 4th Hokage, Minato Namikaze.

Minato Namikaze was the Fourth Hokage of the Hidden Leaf and one of the most talented ninjas in the entire series. Minato passed the academy exams with ease, breaking all kinds of records. Afterwards, he was assigned to Jiraiya's team, and under his guidance, Minato succeeded in realizing his potential.

Minato needs a spinoff because Kishimoto didn't address many aspects of his life. Very recently a one-shot was released showing how Minato came up with the Rasengan. A spinoff would have a similar effect, but fans would get to know more about him rather than just revealing one or two things.

Vegeta

Vegeta is one of the most beloved anime characters of all time. His rise from villain to upright family man is simply amazing, and it's one of the main reasons he rose to fame.

Vegeta is a great character, but he's always been overshadowed by Goku in some way, but that doesn't mean the Prince of Saiyans doesn't have his moments. However, most fans think Vegeta needs a proper spinoff.

L Lorriet

L Loriette Death Note 1

L Lawliet was the exact opposite of Yagami Light. As an internationally recognized detective, his role was to ensure that Wright could not kill anyone he wanted. L knew that such a force could corrupt even the kindest soul, and that's exactly what happened. Light began killing anyone who tried to stop him.

Although L's story ended with his tragic death, fans couldn't help but think he deserved more screen time. This problem could be easily solved by giving him a spin-off that would go into detail about his early life and some of the instances that made him famous around the world. In the case of some side characters, the writers may be worried about whether spinoffs will sell well, but L's name alone is enough to sell hundreds of thousands of copies.

Escanor

An animation character with a stronger aura than Sung Jin-Woo Escanor.

Escanor is part of a very special list of secondary characters who actually outshine the main characters for a significant portion of the story. As a member of the famous Seven Deadly Sins, he was an elite combatant whose name inspired awe and respect. Escanor's unique ability is called 'Sunshine', and its power increases over time.

Escanor has a much better backstory than the other side characters, and his abilities also make battles much more interesting. Clearly, Escanor has all the tools he needs to develop into a leading man. Therefore, if Suzuki Nakaba were to pick one person to write a spin-off, that person would have to be Escanor.

Bucciarati

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Bruno Bucciarati

  • Animation: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is known for having the best cast of characters, and all the credit goes to Hirohiko Araki. Authors have built such incredible characters over the years that choosing just one feels almost impossible. But if there's one person who deserves it more than anyone else, it's Bruno Bucciaratti.

He led the team in Passione, but unlike most gangsters, Bucciarati was respected by the common people. His stand wasn't overpowering, but the way he used it made Sticky Fingers seem like a truly standout ability. A spinoff about Bruno would add depth to the character and increase his popularity even further.

sukuna

Unlike other characters on the list, Sukuna is not a hero, but rather a villain. However, this does not mean that there is no possibility of Sukuna being spun off. Because he existed centuries before the Jujutsu Kaisen timeline, fans only got limited information about him.

A spin-off set in the Heian period where Sukuna battled other ancient wizards would be truly amazing, and would certainly sell a lot of copies.
