Dragon Ball FighterZ SSJ4 Son Goku release date revealed

It's been a full four years since the final character (Android 21) was added to Dragon Ball FighterZ's roster. Since then, FighterZ has remained popular, especially among the Fighting Game Community (FGC) and creators who continue to toy with the roster.

Now FighterZ is making a comeback with a new character addition: Super Saiyan 4 (Daima).

After rumors began to circulate about the possibility of adding new characters long after the final DLC addition last September, Arc System Works confirmed a month later that there will be one more character – a full version of Goku's most popular form, Super Saiyan 4.

Back on today's Dragon Ball Battle Hour, we finally have a confirmed release date for SSJ4 Goku (Daima). It is scheduled to come out next week, April 22nd or Wednesday. The release date announcement was accompanied by a two-minute gameplay trailer, including a particularly neat showdown between SSJ4 Gogeta and SSJ4 Goku (Daima).

According to the trailer, Goku will be available via the Daima DLC pack, which, in addition to including new characters, will also include three types of Z stamps and three new avatars for the in-game lobby, including Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta. Goku will have 12 colors for fans to choose from the menu.

The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya Key Art

I can never watch an anime like The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya again.

It's been 20 years since this legendary animation first appeared on our screens.

It's unclear how much the pack will cost now, but past FighterZ DLC has been relatively cheap on its own and goes on sale often, so it's likely you won't make much money.

Dragon Ball Battle Hour was full of announcements

The release date reveal for SSJ4 Son Goku (Daima) was actually the last announcement of the afternoon. Before that, announcements were frequent and heavy.

Sunday started off with a new trailer for the previously announced remake of Dragon Ball Super's Beerus arc, with additional promises of a fall 2026 release. Then, as many people had already predicted, it was revealed that Project Age 1000 was actually Xenoverse 3. It's scheduled for release in 2027 and it looks glorious.

If you don't have enough Dragon Balls, Sparking! Zero has detailed its massive summer 2026 content drop, including word that it will have over 30 characters, including the long-awaited addition of GT Vegeta.

The fact that the Daima version of Super Saiyan 4 Goku is releasing next week is the cherry on top for a crowded afternoon that will make it worth the wait for Dragon Ball fans.
