Remnant 2: Hardest Bosses, Ranked
Some bosses in Remnant 2 can present a much more difficult challenge than all others. These are the toughest of them all.
Fortunately, there are a variety of weapons for players to choose from, each with their own unique damage specs. Weapons can be purchased from various merchants and are unlocked as players defeat bosses and access new locations. There are three main types of weapons. residue 2That is, handguns, long guns, and melee weapons. This guide compiles a list of the best weapons in each category, ranked by tier.
Updated on October 14, 2024 by Jacob Buchalter. Now that all three of Remnant 2's DLC expansions – Awakened King, Forgotten Kingdom, and Dark Horizon – are out, it's time to take another look at where all the weapons fall. The development team at Gunfire Games has put a lot of hard work into Remnant 2 and has consistently updated the game with patches, bug fixes, and more since launch. So a lot of the weapons here have been re-ranked, and for good reason. First, we break it down into tiers and then rank all DPS options from S to D ranks.
Weapon Class Overview
How to determine and separate weapon classes
All weapon types residue 2 It can be divided into the following tiers, and the lower the tiers, the less effective the weapon is. Of course, the scale of this weapon varies slightly depending on whether it is a long gun, pistol, or melee weapon.
For long guns, damage over time, mod utility, and burst damage are very important. Handguns are generally backup damage and are rarely deployed as a whole, so their burst damage and support abilities are very important. Lastly, melee weapons are difficult to craft and are best used for critical damage or high attack speed. So, let’s break down in detail what each layer typically encapsulates.

explanation |
|---|---|

S tier |
S-tier weapon residue 2 What hits hardest, takes the most damage, and works well in a variety of builds. The most important 'part' of a weapon changes depending on the weapon category, but it is the weapon that has the most impact overall. |
|
Grade A |
What makes A-tier weapons different from S-tier weapons is that they are not typically described as 'overwhelming'. This weapon is suitable for a variety of builds, but is not the 'best choice' in most cases. This is a kind of 'old and reliable' choice that players can always rely on. |
|
B tier |
B-tier weapons are generally incredibly powerful in very specific builds, and quite powerful otherwise. These are weapons that require some sort of crafting, but will usually prove their worth if the player uses them sparingly. |
|
C-tier |
C-Tier is very similar to B-Tier weapons, but requires much fewer builds, making it the best choice (or even a good choice). C-tier weapons are worth using and are usually quite powerful, but in most situations there are almost always better options than C-tier weapons. |
|
D tier |
The last is the lowest tier, D-tier weapon, which is basically completely worthless to use. In very rare cases, a player may be able to perform a build using these weapons, but even so, there is almost always a build variant that is much more powerful than the one using these weapons. Overall, these are weapons that have unique ideas or designs, but fail to execute those ideas well. |
long gun
The most powerful long gun option in Remnant 2
in 2 remaining, Long guns are the main weapon type. This will serve as the backbone of the player's build as they venture into the realms of darkness. Long guns like rifles and shotguns can inflict significant damage to enemies from long distances thanks to their impressive range and firepower. Most long guns have their own boss mode that cannot be toggled, and are the weapon of choice when players face off against deadly world bosses.
Long guns are almost always the 'core' of a build, or at least an attached weapon mod. with dark horizon The DLC is now available. Let's take a moment to talk about the new Long Guns added here: Genesis and Monorail.
- Genesis: Genesis is one of the most powerful weapons in existence. residue 2Put your hands down. Raw damage output, accuracy, and reliability are all top-notch. Plus the Mega Drive weapon mod is absolutely ridiculous and makes aiming a lot less important.
- monorail: The monorail feels buggy, at least as of the current patch (written 10/14/2204). This weapon's damage in no way compensates for its risk, low magazine capacity, and long reload speed. Compared to most other long guns in the game, the Monorail is incredibly short.
These rankings take into account overall damage, damage over time, and attached weapon mods, and the weapons are ranked as follows:

pistol
The most reliable pistol option in Remnant 2
Pistols, such as pistols and SMGs, essentially serve as sidearms to support long guns. In most cases, it is used as an opposite weapon to the player's long gun. While a long gun is a good single target weapon at close range, a good handgun is usually a low damage AoE weapon or a good weapon at long range.
As for the handgun dark horizon The DLC is a fantastic game called Redeemer, although the developers at Gunfire Games have only added one. The Redeemer is one of the most unique weapons in the game today and synergizes with a variety of artifact effects, giving players the ability to heal allies, deal damage, or trigger effects depending on the artifact used.
For handguns, the important stats tend to be unique weapon mods, sustainable ammo count, reliable damage, and fast reloads or high-capacity magazines. The weapons below are ranked with the following statistics in mind:

melee weapon
The most versatile melee weapon option in Remnant 2
Compared to the previous work, residue 2 The melee weapon collection has been revamped. There are many more viable and varied options for players to choose from. Most weapons contain special skills that can transform any normal attack into a unique and highly destructive special attack.
Melee weapons fall into a unique category. 2 remaining, This is because it is typically used for high crit builds or players who want to try a full melee play. Melee weapons with ranged options are rare, but most are used to eliminate mobs without wasting ammo, deal high damage at close range, or use critical hits to deal explosive damage.
that dark horizon The DLC adds three new melee weapons. residue 2All three are pretty fantastic. Since this is the latest content for the game, let's take a closer look at all three.
- Dark Matter Gauntlets: Dark Matter Gauntlets are a viable full-run melee weapon. residue 2 Fans have been asking for the game ever since it came out. Finally, players have a weapon that works outside the edge of the world at incredibly long and close ranges. In particular, Darkness Beam is absolutely ridiculous in terms of damage. As long as players get used to the specific mechanics of this weapon, it works wonders.
- Black Greatsword: This can hardly be called a weapon, more like a lump of iron. Anyway, except for the surprising mention of: fierceThe Black Greatsword is incredibly powerful, works well in Charged Melee builds, and the animation of the weapon itself is amazing. This means that it is not recommended for use in 'glass cannon' builds. That's because much of this weapon's survivability comes from blocking enemy attacks and delivering massive charged attacks.
- Harvester Scythe: It's an incredibly unique weapon, and when paired with the Shocker melee mutagen, it's ridiculously powerful. The very fast Phantom Blade weapon mod is very fun to use and a great option overall.
In our opinion, the ranking of melee weapons is as follows:
