Deltarune Chapter 5 is progressing ‘excellently’
last major update Deltarune The release date for Chapter 5 was revealed by Fox around mid-September, with fans expected to be able to jump into the game in the first half of 2026. Now, an even newer update from the creators, published in the game's official Winter 2025 newsletter, seems to indicate that the previously revealed timetable will still stand, even if it doesn't seem a little optimistic. According to newly released information, Chapter 5 will take “several months to release the game in its current state.” This leaves a big, vague window on a potential release, but Fox has detailed a lot of things that need to happen before the next chapter is ready to debut.
Progress reports show that a lot of work has already been done on the current project and that all spaces for the next chapter have been completed, except for some work needed to modify the background. Likewise, every scene in the game is practically complete and needs some polishing to get it ready for release. There are still a few unfinished battles, but it's already technically all working from start to finish, and there are even a few boss battles. Deltarune Chapter 5 needs some tweaking to the bullet hell pattern and pacing before Fox can officially declare it done.
A future update will reveal that the localization of Chapter 5 is already underway and that once that phase is complete, it will be ready to move into the professional testing phase. January is also a time to shift focus to making sure your game runs properly on all available consoles. Considering the first four chapters of Deltarune Since the Nintendo Switch 2 utilizes a mouse mode, and the feature could return as part of Chapter 5, this part of the process could potentially cause some problems as Fox works to ensure that every version of the game is as bug-free as possible when it's released.
There's no exact estimate for the specific length of Chapter 5, but Fox promises “hours of fun included!” length of intestine Deltarune It takes about twice as long to fully complete Chapter 4 as it takes to complete the same achievement in Chapter 1. Chapters 2 and 3 fall neatly in the middle of the ever-increasing gameplay length graph, so some fans may expect Chapter 5 to deliver an adventure that will take upwards of 10 hours to complete.
