Fallout Season 2 Episode 1 References Cut New Vegas Vault

Fallout Season 2 has begun. The first episode wastes no time jumping into the Mojave action, with a Novac shootout and a trek through the desert that narrowly misses the Deathclaw Quarry. But what's interesting about this opener is that we take a detour to Vault 24 and finally close the doors to the giant machine of 15-year-old mystery.

For context, Fallout: New Vegas was built to a tight deadline of 18 months. many Mr. There's plenty of cut content, from House romances and the older Lonesome Road Ulysses to the mysterious Vault 24 jumpsuit with no bunker to call home.

There's been discussion here and there for over a decade about what the vault might have meant, but without any explanation, there's no way to know. Even project director Josh Sawyer wasn't sure what Vault 24 was, suggesting that the team may have “generated a few additional vault suits from the Vault” that they never intended to include in the game as part of Sarah Weintraub's Collection quest.

Fortunately, after 15 years, the Prime Video series finally gives us concrete answers about Vault 24. It was a brainwashing experiment that turned residents into communist agents using a computer interface installed on the back of the subjects' necks. This has the rather unfortunate side effect of making your head explode.

The safe was discovered in a cave behind the Starlight Drive-In (see the same chain that appeared in Fallout 4), and The Ghoul and Lucy stumble upon the aftermath of this unpleasant trial, trailing Hank MacLean. Inside, they discover a mass of skeletons hooked up to various machines, sitting in front of a still-buzzing projector that forever hypnotizes them with old black-and-white propaganda videos and optical illusions.

Yes, even in the TV show Bethesda is using the skeleton for environmental storytelling.
