Hollow Knight: Silksong has been out for a while. That means everyone has thoroughly explored the lands of Pharloom and the Citadel, rescued every flea, defeated every boss, and overcome every challenge Team Cherry throws at us. With all this in mind, we can now confidently look back at Silksong and decide if it's the game it is. Like every other game under the sun, there are some issues that fans have.
Since the game's release, many issues have focused on difficulty, but we're not going to talk about that today. Reddit user and Silksong fan named Acrobatic_Book_7154 started by asking the gaming community for their biggest issues with the game that had nothing to do with difficulty, and here are a few. Interestingly, many of their little bugbears ended up being shared by quite a few people.
Hollow Knight: Silksong players share the most important information about the game.
First of all, Silksong's voice lines are receiving some criticism from many fans. Especially the lack of voice lines beyond the first game. Any Hollow Knight fan would chant “SHAW” at the top of their lungs, and one fan named Dave_the_dova lamented that despite how popular the phrase was among Team Cherry, “there isn't a single SHAW in the whole game.”
Another big issue that fans have mentioned is Needolin, who has been criticized for a number of reasons. First off, a user named Fuzzy-Paws claims that Needolin burns your silk while you play, which “prevents you from using it to lock down the lore and dialogue behind it,” and many are calling it the worse Dream Nail. There are also complaints about how useless it is in combat, and if you were sitting there right now and discovered that it could be used in combat, I'd be right there with you.
Wraith also got a mention from a few people in the replies, but this has nothing to do with how difficult she is to fight. Instead, users like Level34MafiaBoss are annoyed by the fact that Lace doesn't appear often enough while exploring Pharloom like other bugs, claiming it “would have made me more invested in her arc.” Another user named Commonality agrees with them, saying, “I would love it if she showed up in every possible place just to be the hater.”
There are a number of issues that fans are having, including not being able to obtain shard bundles in large quantities, the music being too quiet, and bosses sometimes not giving rewards. But honestly, if this is the worst non-difficulty-related Silksong fans can think of, I think it confirms that Team Cherry has created a truly great video game.
