Xbox Ships Exclusive Project Helix Merch
Several popular gaming industry content creators have reported receiving special Project Helix merchandise from Xbox. Curated by the gaming juggernaut himself, the care package includes unique apparel, hats, t-shirts and more emblazoned with the Project Helix logo. The Project Helix gift also comes with a personally signed card from Asha Sharma. This is a card thanking you for “travelling” with Xbox as it prepares to reveal its next home console. Project Helix is currently being used as the development code name for the Xbox's next-generation console, and the platform's official name has not yet been revealed.
Exclusive Project Helix merchandise could hint at some major plans for Xbox in 2026. Microsoft has revealed little information about the company's next hardware, but fans have speculated that the company may be planning an official reveal for the 2026 Xbox Games Showcase. Microsoft is also set to hit a major milestone later this year, which could be the goal of its Project Helix announcement. The Xbox brand will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the launch of the original Xbox on November 15th. Jason Ronald also confirmed that the alpha development kit for Project Helix will be available to developers in 2027.
The upcoming release of Project Helix has led to many concerns about the console's potential price point. The recent RAM chip shortage has caused major problems for manufacturers and game studios alike, and is likely to cause game console prices to rise significantly. Popular industry insider Moore's Law is Dead also shared some pricing predictions for Project Helix, suggesting that the console could cost at least $1,000 at launch considering the components used.
