The following article contains spoilers for Naruto, Boruto, and other sequels and spinoffs.
naruto is one of the most popular shonen manga series in the world, and beyond its exciting story, it also has a great, well-built world. One of the most powerful things about the franchise is that it doesn't take into account the existence of powerful warriors who lightly manipulate chakra. naruto It is very serious about showing how human nature weaponizes these forces to create war.
In fact, the origin of ninjutsu is already the weaponization of chakra. This is because Hagoromo Otsutsuki initially aimed to distribute chakra as a way to build connections between people and thereby create a new, peaceful world. That ideology was the core of Ninshu, a religion that would eventually be distorted by the creation of ninjutsu by Hagoromo's eldest son, Indra Otsutsuki. However, in the centuries following Indra's “misuse” of his chakra, nations would emerge and go to war to defend their geopolitical interests. This is known as the Great Shinobi Wars.

in narutoThere are five great ninja nations, the five largest nations in the world, led by feudal lords (daimyō). They function similarly to economic powers, but there are obviously far fewer states. naruto A country of lightning, water, earth, fire, and wind, more so than our real world, each nation naturally has its own unique history and background. Naruto's village, Konohagakure, is in the Land of Fire, so we know a little more about it than others, but Kishimoto has created a large world with vast socio-political knowledge.
As happens in the real world, these countries often fought each other in wars. Some conflicts may involve two of these countries, but there have been a few instances where all or most of the five countries have been drawn into the war. These are known as the Great Shinobi World Wars or Great Ninja Wars, and there have been four in the series' history (or at least four have been recorded in the universe). Interestingly enough, Konoha had a hand in all of this.
How did the Third Ninja War begin?
Like previous wars, the Third Shinobi War was driven by competition for territory, resources, and power (as were most wars in the real world). After World War II, resources were scarce, reducing the power of villages and the power of the nation. The conflict began along the border but soon escalated and spread between countries.

Although war broke out just ten years before the main story begins, the series does not go into much detail about this. The main source of information is undoubtedly Kakashi Chronicles (Kakashi side story), because the conflict escalated to the point where children, including Kakashi and his teammates, were dragged into the war while they were training as genin, novice ninja.
Who is the winner of the Third Ninja War?
The Third Ninja War lasted several years, ending only a year or two before Naruto Uzumaki was born. Sarutobi Hiruzen led his village as the Third Hokage during World War II and World War III, and despite Konoha's favorable outcome in World War III, he decided to turn to diplomacy to achieve a truce and reconcile with other nations.
So technically, no one won the war. All countries involved agreed to a ceasefire. Despite this, Konoha is generally considered the winner of the war due to its strong position and subsequent dominant position. The outcome of the war was instrumental in the appointment of Minato Namikaze as the Fourth Hokage.
Aftermath of the Third Shinobi World War
In Konoha, in addition to Minato becoming the new Hokage after the war, Team Minato as a whole was thrust into the spotlight during the war, with the surviving members being the key to what would come later. Unfortunately, Rin Nohara died during the war due to becoming the Jinchuriki of the Three Tails. Kakashi Hatake, on the other hand, obtained the Sharingan from a seemingly dying Obito Uchiha, and awakened the Mangekyou Sharingan after his teammates died.
There is no courage in those who stray from the path of justice, but cowardice cannot survive under the wing of a strong leader.
Additionally, countries achieved peace through diplomacy, but it was a fragile thing. As is often the case after a war, economic and population decline became major problems. Considering the death toll and other casualties, the war also made room for many “rogue” organizations. For example, it was because of the war that Nagato became the leader of Akatsuki. Akatsuki has been around for a while, but Nagato was the one who reorganized the organization into the version seen in the main story.

As we know, Obito did not die during the war, but Konoha mourned his death. He was saved by Madara Uchiha, and after Madara's death, he swore to follow his ideals of creating a “better world” and went into hiding as Tobi until eventually starting the Fourth Shinobi World War, a major event in the main story.
The fall of the Uchiha clan
Unfortunately, World War III was a major disaster for the Uchiha clan. Fugaku Uchiha, who made great contributions during the war, did not receive the recognition he deserved, and was not even listed as a candidate for the next Hokage. This sparked conflict between the clans and the village officials (there was always conflict between the Uchihas and the officials, which led to even more conflict). Fugaku devoted himself to training his sons Itachi and Sasuke (especially Itachi), who showed great potential.
Conflict between the clan and the village led Fugaku to plan a coup. But at the same time, Shimura Danzo was manipulating Itachi against his clan. After Uchiha Shisui's suicide, and believing it was the only way to protect Sasuke, Itachi sought help from Obito, disguised as Madara, and proceeded to massacre the Uchiha, killing all members of the clan except his younger brother.
Will World War 5 break out in Boruto?
There is currently no clear evidence that the Fifth Shinobi World War could occur in Japan. Boruto: Two Blue SwirlsHowever, the story predicts a large-scale war as the conflict escalates. However, it is highly likely that this war will not be a war between countries. Instead, it's more likely that a united alliance of hidden villages will be needed to defeat the Shinju clones or the Otsutsuki clan.
Jura had already threatened many villages, leading to the belief that they would join forces to defeat him. However, with the introduction of Omnipotence, a divine art that grants the user the power to rewrite reality (or, more accurately, the ability to rewrite their perception of reality), Otsutsuki is able to use this ability to spark conflict between village and nation.
Boruto: What's next for the Two-Blue Vortex?
Boruto: Two Blue SwirlsThe sequel to the story introduces a terrifying new threat: Shinju clones. Although they are born from sacred trees (also known as the Tree of God), they are powerful and sentient beings. As far as we know, Jura's goal as the leader of the Shinju Clones is to consume all Otsutsuki clan members. His first target is Boruto “Otsutsuki”. This is what some people call Boruto after Momoshiki implanted his Kama/Karma into him and Eida/Ada's omnipotence changed people's memories of him.
Jura's actual target is Naruto Uzumaki as he believes Naruto will satisfy his thirst for knowledge, but since Naruto's disappearance he wants to consume Boruto first as Otsutsuki and Himawari as the new jinchuriki of the Nine-Tails.
The story also focuses on Kawaki's downfall and his resentment towards Boruto, believing he will eventually be controlled by Momoshiki because of Kama. Finally, the new series makes it clear that the true enemy of the story, and likely the final villain, will have to be the Otsutsuki clan and its parasitic ways of gathering power at the expense of the lives of everyone else.
naruto and boruto You can read it in English and many other languages on MANGA Plus. However, since only the latest three chapters can be read for free, fans will have to pay for a membership to enjoy the entire series.
