After achieving the seemingly impossible, Enryu's ranking in the Tower has skyrocketed to 1st place, while Zahard has been pushed down to 2nd place. Since then, he has disappeared into thin air, and there are no clues as to his whereabouts or activities. Enryu's control over the Divine Beasts is so great that he is not bound by the tower's restrictions, and does not need permission from the floor guardians to utilize them freely. Wherever he appears, the Divine Beasts in that area turn red, earning him the nickname “Red Tower”. Enryu can now transform the red Divine Beasts into tools of mass destruction, similar to his signature Red Spear. So what drives Enryu? What makes him challenge the most feared ruler, Zahard? The most commonly accepted theory is his hatred for Zahard and the empire he has built in the tower. After years of rule, Zahard has established a hierarchical system that limits not only the regular army, but even the Shinsoo themselves. Enryu is not the only one who despises Zahard and his system, but his actions against him show that his hatred is so special that it could lead to the collapse of Zahard’s unwavering order.
This theory sets the stage for another common theory, that Enryu is destined to defeat Zahard. There is a prophecy circulating in the tower that Zahard's reign will end, and it is the work of an Irregular. While Baam is believed to be the Irregular, Enryu could play a key role in its fulfillment. Defeating the Guardian of the 43rd floor sets the stage for an uprising, and his silence since then has left the tower's inhabitants in a state of uncertainty. The death of the Guardians was one of the most monumental and mysterious events in the Tower. The Guardians are the beings that rule over each floor of the Tower. These beings are said to be omnipotent on each floor, setting the rules for climbing the Tower, controlling the flow of Divine Water, and allowing the use of Divine Water on each floor. It was unthinkable that someone could kill such a character, and Enryu did it alone.
Arriving on the 43rd floor, Enryu was furious at how the land Arlin cherished had been desecrated. The first words out of his mouth were, “Only those who believe in the false king will remain here and face death.” From there, it was all Red Rain. The Guardian was enraged and engaged Enryu in battle. However, his powers were useless against Enryu. The Guardian was brutally torn to pieces, exposing the mortality of a being thought to be immortal. The only feat of this kind so far has changed the course of history forever.
During their fight, the attacks they used completely destroyed the landscape of the 43rd floor, flattening mountains, destroying buildings, and dyeing the ground red. The floor later became known as the “Floor of Death.” It is said that after their fight, a long rain of divine waters fell, leaving only the corpses of the Guardians.
Without a Guardian to maintain the flow of the Divine Beast, the floor became uninhabitable. Rumors of a giant thorn that could kill Zahard began to spread, and Zahard himself later sealed the floor and its inhabitants, perhaps fearing his own weakness. Fortunately, an unknown entity had created an artificial life support system for the floor using the blood vessels of the dead Guardian. The ability to grant life using only Divine Beasts is not a common skill, nor is it something that can be simply learned. With such abilities in his arsenal and his unprecedented control over the Divine Beasts, fans speculate that Enryu potentially knows facts about the Tower that no one else knows.
