While scaling the buildings of Lumiose City in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, you’ve probably come across a few Colorful Screws. This item appears in the overworld in a Poke Ball with a purple light coming off of it. They won’t tell you exactly what they’re for, but as you play through the game, you’ll eventually find out that they can be traded to the workers of Racine Construction for a Canari Plush.

Running the meta in Pokemon Legends: Z-A can be a good way to pull out wins, but any team can be viable with the right strategy.

While you only need 77 of them to trade for each plush, and all the upgrades, there are actually 100 of them in Pokemon Legends: Z-A to find. Of course, finding Colorful Screws is an entirely optional aspect of the game, but since each plush offers a boost of some kind, and you’re bound to find a lot of them by exploring anyway, there’s no reason not to enjoy and complete this unique challenge.

Where To Find Every Colorful Screw

As mentioned, there are a total of 100 Colorful Screws to find throughout Lumiose. They’re spread out well, so you’ll need to explore almost every inch of the city if you hope to track them all down, but you can use this time to grab other things you may have missed as well, such as a specific Pokemon or even a TM.

Not all Colorful Screws can be accessed immediately. Several will require you to use the Roto-Glide feature, so it’s recommended that you wait to begin actively seeking out all the Colorful Screws until you have unlocked that feature through story progression.

While the map above can be great for providing a general idea of where to look, especially if you mostly want to find them yourself but want a hint of where to check, some can be incredibly hard to pinpoint, even if you know the map location. For this reason, the tables below will offer a detailed explanation of where to find each of the Colorful Screws shown on the map above, organized by the different districts of Lumiose.

The in-game images in the tables of this section may not show the Colorful Screw in the image, as it may have been collected before the screenshot. Still, if you stand where the player character is shown in your own game, you will be able to plainly see the screw from that same location, if you have not already collected it. Additionally, the map image is the exact location of the Colorful Screw, while the in-game image is designed to show the Colorful Screw’s location in relation to the surrounding area.

There are five districts in Lumiose, each separated by Avenues or the Saison Canal. The northern districts are Rouge, Jaune, and half of Magenta. The southern districts include Bleu, Vert, and the other half of Magenta. The number of screws in each district varies, but you will find Colorful Screws in all five of them.

All Colorful Screws In The Bleu District

The Bleu District of Pokemon Legends_ Z-A

The Bleu district of Lumiose is located between Estival and Vernal Avenue in the southern portion of Lumiose. There are 18 Colorful Screws in this district of Lumiose. For detailed descriptions of where you’ll find each one, please see the table below:

You will need to attack the ice to make a bridge. In that courtyard, take the ladder to reach the roof. Vert is also found in the southern portion of Lumiose, specifically between Vernal Avenue and the Saison Canal. There are a total of 22 Colorful Screws in this location. For detailed descriptions of where you’ll find each one, please see the table below:

Alternatively, you can also use the Holovator on Jaune Street if you have access to it, but if you use that method, you should collect Colorful Screw 49 first, since it will be easier to land on that roof from this direction. To reach it, go to the elevated part of the roof and hit Roto-Glide as you step off towards the table with the umbrella. When you do this, it will propel you up enough to get on the umbrella. Rouge can also be found in the northern region of Lumiose, nestled between Autumnal and Hibernal Avenues. This portion of Lumiose contains the most Colorful Screws of any, as there are 25 to be found in this area. That means 1/4 of all Colorful Screws will be found here, so be careful not to skip one accidentally. For detailed descriptions of where you’ll find each one, please see the table below:

Colorful Screw 63	Rouge Plaza	Once you have the previous screw, proceed to the other side of the building, located west of Rouge Plaza, where a Holovator is situated. Take that to the roof and then proceed to the portion of the roof directly above the platform you just climbed for the last screw. Then, jump down into the small courtyard area on the roof and use a ladder on the northern side to reach the area where some Emolga are located. Make a sort of U-shape, returning to where the platform was, and you’ll see a Colorful Screw on the roof.	No.

Colorful Screw 88	Magenta Sector 6	Right near the western Wild Zone 9 entrance, you’ll find a road that runs between Magenta Sector 6 and the Electrical Substation. Near Wild Zone 9’s entrance on this road, climb up a ladder to reach the top of a small platform. From here, dodge roll to the other platform just north of you. Then turn back around and Roto-Glide to the middle of the platform you just climbed the ladder on. You’ll likely have seen the Colorful Screw while climbing the ladder. You can attempt to grab this one without Roto-Glide, but it won’t be easy. You’ll need to climb the ladder on the second platform up higher so you can try to aim your fall into the middle portion of the initial platform.	No, but it’s recommended.

You can reach this roof in a few ways, but you will have to get to it from either the roof to the north or the east. The easiest method is to take the Holovator in the curved part of the building in Magenta Sector 4. From there, you can roll or Roto-Glide to the lower roof of Magenta Sector 7, where you’ll find the Colorful Screw.	No, but it’s recommended.
Colorful Screw 96	Magenta Sector 8	North of the building where the Magenta Pokemon Center is, you’ll find a small construction platform with a Colorful Screw on it. To reach the screw, you’ll need to climb the small platform west of it and then roll to the one where the screw is located.	No.
Colorful Screw 97	North Boulevard	Near Café Triste on North Boulevard, you’ll see a few tall construction platforms. The one right next to the building that Café Triste is attached to will have a ladder you can climb to reach the top. From the top of that one, Roto-Glide to the platform where the Colorful Screw is. If you miss the part the screw is on, but still land up top, walk off the edge and immediately hit Roto-Glide, and it will lift you high enough to reach it.	Yes.
Colorful Screw 98	North Boulevard	If you’re still on the platform where you grabbed Colorful Screw 97, Roto-Glide onto the platform to the north. The Colorful Screw you’re looking for is behind a small sign on the top of that platform.	Yes.

Colorful Screw 100	Magenta Sector 9	After climbing the platform that Colorful Screw 99 was at the top of, walk onto the roof there and then take the ladder that leads to the roof directly south of where you are, opposite the Wild Zone 18 entrance. Once at the highest point, move to the southern edge, and you should see a smaller roof with a colorful screw on top in the area where Eevee spawns.	No.

What Are Colorful Screws For?

While progressing through the story of Pokemon Legends: Z-A, you’ll eventually meet Canari and her dedicated fan club, which just so happen to be a bunch of construction workers that work for her relative. Once you’ve progressed through her part of the story, you’ll notice a construction worker outside of Racine Construction, the place you initially fight Canari. If you talk to them, they’ll offer to take your colorful screws in exchange for different Canari plushes.

Each plush type offers a different boost to your overall gameplay, including boosting monetary rewards, increasing the rate of EXP gain, or even just minimizing your risk of being hurt by Pokemon in the wild. Once you unlock the first rank of a plush type, it will have subsequent levels to unlock for more screws, which increase the benefits from that plush. It will only take 77 Colorful Screws to max out the plush rewards, but there is a reward for finding the remaining 23.

What Happens When You Get 100 Colorful Screws?

If you go above and beyond and collect all 100 Colorful Screws in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, then Racine Construction will reward you with a giant Canari plush for your bedroom at the hotel. All you need to do is speak with the worker, and he’ll let you know how many you’re still missing. Once you have them all, he’ll let you know that the plush is being delivered to your room, and you can head straight there to see it. Upon entering, you’ll see the XL Canari plush sitting proudly in the corner of your bedroom to acknowledge your accomplishment.
