In an effort to overcome the Sealed Tower's initial problems, Reddit user Gdim15 recently built a large fire escape and attached it to the structure. They humorously explained that this ambitious project was about bringing the tower “up to code.” Fire escapes span 28 floors, including the ground floor, and connect at various points to various openings in the tower. Gdim15's impressive feat of engineering garnered over 3,700 upvotes and immediately appeared on the front page of the r/Valheim subreddit shortly after being posted in mid-January 2026. The player stated that the fire escape was built without steel beams. Steel wood beams provide much stronger structural support and allow pieces to be built taller without losing stability or breaking apart. Instead, Gdim15 relied on repeatedly “anchoring” the structure to the Sealed Tower itself. That is, to maintain stability, the design was adjusted so that the core timbers were in contact with the tower at every level rather than every other level. In practice, this means that each horizontal brace is made up of two long core timber beams and a short connecting beam that ties the braces back to the tower wall. Overall, this massive fire escape required an excellent understanding of: Valheim's construction mechanism was trickier to construct than it first appeared.
Although an engineering marvel in itself, Gdim15's fire escape is a somewhat overkill solution for expanding a sealed tower. This is not a small part. This is because the falling speed limit (which essentially allows you to glide) and the 100% fall damage reduction ensure that any mistake made while ascending won't be fatal. The cloak is weak to fire, so taking it to one of the towers requires a compromise.
