Pokémon's 30th anniversary is just around the corner. As you might expect, Pikachu's face appears on almost all marketing and merchandise. It's virtually the same logo as the 25th Anniversary logo, except there's a big 3 and 0 on the ball instead of the 2 and 5.
To give Pikachu and the other 1,024 Pokémon a break during this anniversary, The Pokemon Company has created logos for all of the creatures and is releasing them all on social media.
The Pokémon company created 1,025 logos to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
The Japanese Poke_Times Twitter account, a news account designed to share information that makes Pokemon more fun, has started a promotion where fans will be randomly assigned one of the newly designed 30th anniversary logos if they share one of their tweets.
This logo features a 3 and a 0, with the 3 colored to match the type of Pokemon and the Pokemon popping out of the 0.
In true Pokémon fashion, fans are asked to use the image as a 'smartphone wallpaper, social media icon, profile image, virtual background on the web, or desktop background', but should refrain from using it for any other purpose.
The campaign has already gone viral, with over 2,800 comments in the first four hours, with people hoping to win their favorite Pokémon.
Players have shared Pokémon logos so far, including Rayquaza, Mew, Chandelure, and Clodsire.
Of course, this is all part of wider marketing ahead of the series' 30th anniversary on February 28th. To celebrate, The Pokemon Company will be holding its annual Pokemon Day Pokemon Giveaway presentation to announce the latest games in the Pokemon series. There's anticipation that we'll finally see a 10th generation titled Wind and Waves, and there's hope that the long-awaited Pokemon GameCube game will finally make its way to the Nintendo Switch online service. This comes alongside Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, which were confirmed for standalone releases last week.
