Solo Leveling Season 3 was one of the most anticipated anime of 2026.. This goes without saying, especially when looking at the success the franchise has had over the past two years. It would be disingenuous to say that solo leveling hasn't always been massive. The manga has become incredibly popular among fans in Korea and even internationally. However, it never became as mainstream as it did after the series' first season was released. Solo Leveling Season 1 took the world by storm, breaking all kinds of records on Crunchyroll. If Season 1 was a huge success, Season 2 raised the bar and went even bigger, breaking some records fans thought were untouchable and beating out series like One Piece in reviews on platforms like Crunchyroll.
Solo Leveling Season 1 was also selected as Animation of the Year at the Crunchyroll Awards 2025. Thanks to its incredible second season, it's once again nominated for Animation of the Year in 2026. The future of a franchise this big still remains in the dark, and as previously mentioned, Season 3 is unlikely to come out in 2026. This is incredibly unfortunate for fans, especially considering how big it is now and how much it can grow in what could be the biggest season in the entire story.

Solo Leveling appears to be planning to replicate the success of Demon Slayer.. 2025 has been an absolutely huge year for Demon Slayer, and that largely hinges on the Infinity Castle movie. It blew everything out of the water and set the bar so high that other franchises can only hope to come close to half its success. Solo Leveling is one of those franchises that I think fans have a chance to aim for at the top.
