The main story director and vision holder have remained the same since The Witcher 1.
The Witcher 4's decision to include Ciri as a protagonist was immediately criticized after the game was revealed at last year's The Game Awards. A few voices declared that this was “another gender-swap game” and that “the ugliness of awakened women has struck Ciri.” It seemed like these guys had no long-term vision and that CD Projekt Red was simply reacting to the way the gaming landscape was evolving.

The Witcher 4 Director One of 100 CD Projekt Red Employees on The Witcher 3
Speaking on Twitter (via) pc gamer) CD Projekt Red CEO Michal Nowakowski confirmed that around 100 developers are still working on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, including “veterans of The Witcher 2 and The Witcher 1.”
Replying to comments later, Nowakowski confirmed that the series has fantastic continuity in terms of narrative. He said, “The main story director has been the same since Witcher 1. The main vision holder has been the same since Witcher 1. And I have been there since then.” [sic] And that’s 20 years.”
The main story director is the same person from Witcher 1, and the main vision holder is the same person from Witcher 1.
As is often the case in the gaming industry these days, Nowakowski's tweet was hijacked by people looking for something to complain about. In response to accusations that CD Projekt Red is collaborating with Sweet Baby Inc., Nowakowski said, “We don't work with Sweet Baby, we never have. I've never even heard of it until recently.”
While this goes against the agenda that's been pushed for the game since its reveal, there's no doubt that some people will soon discover other things to dissatisfy with.
