2024 was truly an amazing year for the Digimon card game. With numerous collectible and competitive sets released throughout the year, the game is poised for a final integration with the Japanese version in 2025. Bandai printed some of the best cards of the year, including some that we hope will still stick around in 2024.

Digimon Card Game: 10 Most Valuable Cards from a Special Limited Set
This is a special limited set with infinite potential value.
Common cards like Ukkomon have become staples in almost every deck that has room for a few newcomers, while X Antibody cards have continued to dominate, with some even finding their way into restricted and restricted lists. This has been my best year as a Digimon card game fan.
9
Shoto Kazama
Make everything a blocker
With the release of the Digimon Liberator webtoon, fans were introduced to surprising new Digimon (Pteromon and Shoemon), but protagonist Shoto Kazama made the meta and control decks an absolute threat.
Giving one of the Digimon Blockers, Shoto's effect is not limited to Liberator-type Digimon, creating massive towers like Mother D-Ripper and unavoidable walls that will have you scratching your head over how to climb them. With MedievalGallantmon arriving in early 2025, this green trainer will continue to reign supreme in upcoming sets.
8
scramble
Save your stack
The scramble cards included in this special limited set change the game for the better. This optional card gave decks that relied on a single stack to have some sort of recursion engine. Not only can you build your deck with the cards you need for your next turn, but you can also play a rookie for free.
There are a number of cards similar to Scramble, such as Memory Boost and Training Cards, but they have so much utility that it will be a while until we see their replacement.

Imperialdramon: Paladin Mode ACE
Best counters for purple
Most ACE cards are very specific to their archetype or Digimon line, but Imperialdramon has three different colors, making this card one of the most common level 7 ACEs you can run in any deck.

Digimon Card Game: 10 Most Valuable Cards from the Special Booster 2.0 Release
Release Special Booster 2.0 brought many expensive cards to the Digimon card game. These are the most expensive ones.
If you've ever played a Digimon card game before, you'll know how powerful purple can be. Typically built around powerful draw and discard engines, these decks can quickly reach win conditions and clear the board. Using Paladin Mod's effect on all the junk in the bottom deck can make these pesky decks much easier.
6
X antibody prototype
To defeat Program X!
When BT17 Secret Crisis was released, the fan-favorite purple dog that appeared in the Digimon Seekers web novel was a popular deck. If you are fast and fast, you can perform a one-turn kill (OTK) on the second turn. As more support has been released since its debut, the deck has become more consistent, establishing itself as one of the best decks of 2024.
This deck doesn't offer much flexibility outside of OTK, and can be a bit weak without archetype protection, but with the release of scramble cards, Fenriloogamon has become one of the best in the game.
5
Ancient Garurumon
Bounce All Security
Hybrids have been a threat to the game since BT06 Double Diamond. In particular, Blue Hybrid was such an underwhelming deck that its tamer card Tommy Himi had to spend some time on Bandai's banned and restricted card list.

Digimon Card Game: EX7 10 Best Cards from Digimon Liberator
Make the most of this Shoto-centric set.
With this version of AncientGarurumon, the new version of Blue Hybrid becomes even faster, and combined with the Ukkomon card, the search and draw engine has a powerful performance that no other deck can match. The best thing about this card is that the pool of cards around it is so diverse that each build of your deck is different from the rest.
4
Piledramon
Stingmon and Xvimon! Jogress!
Imperialdramon has spent quite some time as one of the best decks in the meta and competitive circuit. He's fast and aggressive, and with powerful Tamer cards like Davis and Ken, he can outsmart anyone he faces. Paildramon and its debut keyword, Partition, gave the deck a layer of protection in addition to its signature Jamming.
Paildramon allows you to attack aggressively to inflict damage while freezing your opponent's board. Paildramon combined with Imperialdramon from the set is the core of the deck.
3
Ukomon
many people's nightmare
Like it or not, this card is one of the most important cards of the year. With the release of Ukkomon, every deck now has room for a newcomer or two, and the game's consistency issues have grown significantly. Paired with its promotional counterpart, this Ukkomon is a must-have in most aggressive decks.
Luckily, the promotional version was limited to one copy per deck to prevent many unfair loops, but we Fenriloogamon players still have the Movie Antagonist to help us find the cards.
2
Apokalimon
Draw a card!
As UK players, we didn't get to experience all of Apocalymon's features at launch. After a long reign in the Japanese meta, Bandai decided to limit cards to one per week upon their release in the West.
Some people were upset that Secret Rare cards were limited, but those cards were quite detrimental to the game due to their effects that could push opponents away without them realizing it. You can still play the card, albeit less consistently, but if you're looking for a shameless way to defeat your opponent, Apocalymon is the card you're looking for.
1
Magnamon (X Antibody)
huge golden wall
A huge wall. A powerful royal knight. This Magnamon is the first three-color card released. This was very problematic because it was already a huge wall for players to climb over, while also giving the deck access to a variety of removal and defensive option cards.
Other card games like Yu-Gi-Oh! There are plenty of cards that aren't affected by the effects of other cards, but in Digimon this effect wasn't there before Magnamon, and it changed the entire landscape of the game for the rest of the year.
