The Street Fighter set kept Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns separate, the WWE Champion revealed.

For some time now, the cast of the upcoming Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat live-action films have been taking shots at each other, whether on stage at The Game Awards or in interviews ahead of the films' scheduled release dates. What makes the first half of both films a bit more interesting is this exact kind of real-life beef.

But it turns out the beef isn't limited to beef on opposing movie sets. no. Because he and Roman Reigns also have real problems, at least according to WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. An issue that seemed to prevent Guile (Rhodes) and Akuma (Reigns) from interacting with each other on set.

In a recent appearance on Chris Van Vliet's in-depth interview show, Rhodes revealed that things have been a bit frosty between him and Reigns, not long after the duo patched up their television issues in the wrestling ring at WrestleMania.

Ragdoll physics is the best thing to happen to WWE 2K in decades.

WWE 2K26 is hilariously violent in most video game ways possible.

“They were so aware of our radios that I think they thought we were actually going to fight or get in trouble. [and saying]‘If you go out with Guile, the Akuma will come out,’ Rhodes said (thanks to IGN for the transcript). 'They knew very well we wouldn't cross the road. And we had to tell him the direction of one of the trailers and we did that because it was our only moment and it was very awkward.”

This could all end up being an elaborate ruse.

It's unclear if there was a moment that caused the two superstars to continue to have problems with each other. The two headlined back-to-back WrestleMania main events against each other, filming each other's abilities, families, and skill sets in storylines leading up to those events.

“It’s a crazy relationship,” Rose said. “I have nothing but admiration for what he has done and accomplished, but I don't know what it is. I don't even like talking about it because I don't know what it is. It's just a very strange relationship.”

The filming of Street Fighter took place long after the in-ring feud had ended, so it's not like they had to be separated to maintain kayfabe or the in-ring magic had to be kept alive in case there were cameras nearby watching.

It's very possible that all of this is just speculation on Rose's part. Wrestlers are almost always strong in character and as honest as the interviews on Van Vliet's show are. Rhodes could embellish a few things to make it seem like the two aren't on good terms if they rekindle their feud.

In other words, good wrestlers lie a lot, and they lie a lot. Rhodes is no exception.

But it's a shame that if there's any real beef, it might not lead to an in-movie fight between Guile and Akuma. I mean, isn't that what Street Fighter is all about?
