Immediately after the Cold Snap update was applied on December 16th, ARC Raiders Social media was filled with excitement as players nabbed tons of rare blueprints. This has led some to speculate that a hotfix to revert the changes may be on the way.
Earlier today, developer Embark Studios announced its second major content update. ARC RaidersKnown as Cold Snap. Released just in time for Christmas, this patch includes a ton of decorations, events, and game-changing features for players to dive into. The most notable of these is the new Cold Snap Map Modifier, which covers the map in snow. But this isn't just an aesthetic change. Limited visibility, slippery ice, and sub-zero temperatures can put your life at risk if your radar stays outdoors too long. The good news is that loot value increases during modifiers. The update also includes a new Flickering Flames event, numerous quality-of-life improvements, bug fixes, and more.

ARC Raiders buff blueprint creation speed, maybe too much
In the official patch notes for today's update, developer Embark Studios revealed that it has expanded blueprint spawn locations to increase availability in underrepresented areas, while also moving the Aphelion blueprint drop from Matriarch to Stella Montis. It's unclear how common it is for Embark to want a Blueprint to follow a patch, but players are reporting finding numerous Blueprints in just one game. One user said Stella Montis was “broken,” saying she had extracted a total of four blueprints, one of which was the Aphelion, the world's rarest weapon. ARC Raiders. Another user took one raid on the new Cold Snap map modifier and created an incredible eight Blueprints. They then joked that they did not believe that obtaining the blueprints would be a problem after the upcoming expedition.
first ARC Raiders The Exploration Project is scheduled to launch on December 22nd, but the latest update appears to have brought with it a slew of changes that may make players think differently about the reset. It will certainly be easier to get blueprints again after a reset (assuming Embark doesn't change spawn rates), but patch 1.7.0 will also allow players to reset their skill trees for coins. Expeditions give you up to 5 extra skill points, so it's impossible to get the most out of your skill tree without resetting. This means players must carefully allocate points based on the Raider's specialization. However, the ability to reset these points is a real game-changer that makes the expedition even less attractive.
Embark attempted to speed up the creation of Blueprints, but it's unclear if this was the intended result. A new hotfix update may be on the way if the studio wants to revert or at least slightly reduce the value. However, Embark recently announced that the team would be taking a much-needed break over the Christmas period. The studio has stated that new updates will no longer be released on a weekly basis as they have been since launch. “From now on, launch windows and store rotations will be moved to Tuesdays,” Embark said. He then explained that the studio would be taking a “much-needed break” and would return in January with further updates. “During this period, we will continue to monitor and work on important issues.”
