When the Nintendo Switch 2 was officially revealed almost a year ago, one of the most exciting announcements at the time was the inclusion of classic GameCube titles on Nintendo Switch Online through the ongoing Nintendo Classics program.
Since then, fans have been treated to a variety of titles, including the original Luigi's Mansion and most recently Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance.
Now, thanks to an inadvertent leak on Walmart's website, we seem to know what two of the following GameCube titles will be: Pikmin 2 and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes.
The leak, first shared on Reddit and independently confirmed by TheGamer, includes titles previously released on Nintendo Switch Online, including the original GameCube Classics title Wind Waker, as well as Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and Pikmin 2.
It's unclear exactly when both titles will be released, but considering rumors are rampant that there will be a Nintendo Direct separate from the already announced Tomodachi Life presentation, it couldn't come at a better time.
If Nintendo is seriously considering a Donkey Kong reboot, they should revisit his legendary GameCube run
Switch 2 requires DK Bongos.
Interestingly, it's consistent with rumors dating back to March 2025 that Prime 2 exists as a GameCube title rather than its own “remastered” version like the way the first Metroid Prime received. At the time, it was reported that Prime 2 was being “saved” by NSO, except that the GameCube title was not yet part of NSO.
Once Prime 2 is released, the only title left in the Prime franchise will be the Wii exclusive Prime 3: Corruption. How Nintendo pulled this off is the biggest question.
It was a few days later that NSO's GameCube games were announced as exclusive features for the Switch 2. Fast forward to today, and it looks like at least two of the following titles have been revealed.
Now, we're waiting for three previously announced GameCube titles.
Following the launch of Path of Radiance earlier this month, we've laid out paths (see what we did there) for three previously revealed but yet to debut on paid services: Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness, Pokemon Colosseum, and Mario Sunshine.
While the previous two Pokémon games seem to be prime targets for reveals during the Pokémon Day festivities, it's still unclear when Sunshine will release. After that, all content will be revealed starting from the initial release. This leaves a ton of room for Metroid and Pikmin sequels to debut.
So far, Wind Waker, F-Zero GX, and Soul Calibur 2 have been the early debut games. Then Path of Radiance, Super Mario Strikers, Chibi-Robo, Luigi's Mansion, and Wario World all followed.
