The Fragmented Adamantine Rod has the unique ability to allow the user to detect adamantine within 10 miles and pinpoint the exact location of the substance within 10 miles. This means that it's easy for a particularly cunning fire giant to stalk someone from a considerable distance without being detected before attacking while the party is resting.
The rod is sought after by fire giants who want to join the search for Bonidod, meaning many will fight to the bitter end to claim the rod for themselves. Any player can adapt this item, but since it attracts attention, it's best held by a beat-up character, such as a tank character who can defend against the Resolute Giants.
