The Dark and Underrated Fallout Companion Backstory

All of this is painted against the backdrop of the questionable actions of major powers such as the horrific Vault-Tec experiments and the Institute, a greedy corporation that defies limits in its pursuit of scientific excellence. As a result, the post-war wasteland is terrifying and harsh, and that brutality is also reflected in the many companions the player meets during his adventure.

Residing in a hidden section of Vault 81, her mission was to work with her long-dead human colleagues to develop a cure for mole rat disease. The plan was to use the Vault's inhabitants as test subjects in the name of science, but the Overseer, skeptical of Vault-Tec's greedy and unethical plans, decided to stand against them by interfering with their work. As a result, the scientists were slowly dying one by one, with Curie watching from the sidelines in despair. Nonetheless, she completed the development of the cure as planned, and when the Sole Survivor eventually found her, she had been spending the last few decades simply “scanning the walls.”

Regardless of what you think of the experiments in Vault 81 and how justified the Overseer was in his actions, you have to admit that what Curie had to go through was pretty tough. She's clearly a synth, but there's something incredibly sad about how optimistic and naive she is as a companion despite what she's been through. It's hard not to feel sorry for her. Not to mention how helpless she must have felt at not being able to save her human companions.

A person attacked becomes an intruder

Countless characters fallout the universe endures Loss and suffering at the hands of intruders. Gage's life was unremarkable as a settler, and he remembers his parents bending over backwards to accommodate local invaders. He eventually got tired of this and decided it was better to live on his own than to be a victim for the rest of his life. He ran away, worked here and there before settling into a gang and becoming a raider himself. In essence, he became the very person he despised, the very person he saw his parents endure. What could be darker than that?

However, Gage's time in the gang was not easy. He was betrayed by his leader, who began to feel threatened by Gage's wit and ingenuity, and thought he would eventually come out on top. After the betrayal, he moves from gang to gang before arriving at Colter's group in Nuka-World, where he also ends up as the sole survivor. His story may not bring you to tears, but as a settler who suffered for years at the hands of raiders, you'd think he'd choose a path that wouldn't put him through that. This is a very ironic story, and one that makes you think about what his parents would think of him if they saw him now.

Grandma's life turned into hell

The Master is known to be one of the most evil characters in the work. fallout The universe is an example of this ultimate cruelty, with its desire to create the best of humanity through the FEVs and the super mutant forces Unity and Lily Bowen. A former resident of Vault 17, she lived a somewhat idyllic life as a grandmother to two grandchildren, but during one fateful raid she was captured by the Master's forces and turned into a Nightkin along with FEV. In her new form, she was nothing more than a military pawn to be forcibly killed by the Master and his Unity. Luckily, after the events of Fallout, she was able to leave Unity and can be found in Jacobstown. Fallout: New Vegas As the parcel arrives.

But her time at Unity left its mark on her, as it did on other soldiers. Lily suffers from schizophrenia, which developed over time as she was forced to use the Stealth Boy while serving her Master's whims. It appears as a dark, evil voice encouraging her to do bad things. Unfortunately, treatments for this condition aren't very good either. Because Lily risks losing precious and close memories of her grandchildren. It's truly sickening and gut-wrenching to see how much she's lost because of the Master's actions, and it's so infuriating that I wish we could go back to the beginning. fallout And continue to destroy the abomination. Fallout 2 is really really dark

beginning fallout Since the game hasn't been “calm” about its dark storyline, I'm going to give it a triple whammy by introducing three companions from the second game who personally left a pretty big impression on me with their backstories.

Let's start with Lenny. When war eventually broke out, he became a resident of Vault 12, which on the surface seemed like the perfect refuge. But as we all know, Vault-Tec cannot be trusted. A dark feature of this particular Vault is that it is intended to conduct research on the effects of radiation, and for this purpose the Vault door is not fully closed. Lenny was turned into a ghoul, a fate he never could have predicted in his dreams. Imagine: Trust that everything will be okay. Only then will your body reach a bizarre state of near-immortal decay.

Next is Myron. Myron's story is not dark because he has suffered a lot or gone through hard times, but because of the implications he and his backstory have for the rest of the Wasteland. Myron is the genius behind Jet, the iconic chemical that practically everyone uses. fallout Fans will be familiar with it. As a member of Mordinos, he conducted a great deal of research to create what we now know as Jet, using numerous slaves as test subjects in return. Fortunately, he met the end that someone like him needed at the hands of a violent jet junkie.

Lastly, there is K-9. This dog is no ordinary Dogmeat, with the ability to speak and human intelligence. In reality, he is a cyberdog, and this added layer of intelligence is what led to his tragic backstory. When K-9 had enough of watching his superior, Dr. Schreber, conduct morally questionable research, he bit him. His punishment? He could no longer use his legs. Unable to move, he was forced to watch as Schreber continued his evil ways until the player arrived.

A slave who doesn't ask questions

Clover doesn't get much love. fallout 3Mainly because to get her in the first place, you literally have to pass the Evil Karma voice check to purchase her. As you know, Clover is a slave, and she is under the control of the infamous and terrible Chudo Jones, who was discovered in Paradise Falls. Personally, I don't like playing evil because it's hard to stick to it. But the cool thing about Clover is that you don't really care how your karma plays out once you buy her, for whatever amount you can negotiate.

One would think saving her from the eulogy would be a good thing. Considering the physical and verbal abuse she endured at his hands, that's probably true. But Clover has long since disappeared mentally. She has no sense of self and will blindly follow whoever is her master at the time. She never questions this absolute loyalty, neither during her eulogy nor while under the rule of the Lone Wanderer. She's lived a miserable life as a slave and a woman, and the worst part is that she doesn't seem to realize this at all, considering all the brainwashing she's gone through over the years, especially under the Eulogy. She feels neither sympathy nor camaraderie with Crimson, who is in the same situation as herself. I can't think of anything more terrible than a fate like hers.
