JoJo's Bizarre Adventure animation returns after almost four years. Stone Ocean was the last segment to be animated, and with its conclusion, David Production knew they had to start with Steel Ball Run. However, the studio has not shared any updates for a long time, which has made fans a bit anxious. Fortunately, in 2025, Netflix has confirmed that the Steel Ball Run anime will be released in 2026.
Social media accounts linked to the JoJo franchise and Netflix have shared new trailers, footage, and character designs. All of this gave fans a glimpse of what they can expect from the Steel Ball Run anime. If fans don't want to trust the trailer, they can wait and watch the anime for themselves as Netflix has already shared the release date of Steel Ball Run anime.
JoJo fans can watch the SBR animation on March 19, 2026. The first episode is confirmed to premiere on the aforementioned date, with a runtime of 47 minutes. Netflix also appears to have given up on releasing episodes in batches. Otherwise, streaming platforms would have expressed it differently.
It would be remiss to say that many fans despised Stone Ocean's release schedule. Mainly because it ruined the hype for the anime. Because JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is divided into several parts, viewers with no prior experience with the series will want to know if they can start with Steel Ball Run. The answer is yes and no. Steel Ball Run takes place in an alternate universe, so it is not completely connected to the previous parts. So fans don't need to watch to fully understand the story. But at the same time, there are also several references to previous characters that will be on the viewers' minds if they haven't watched the previous six parts.

Logically, Frieren could easily be left behind at the top if a story of Steel Ball Run's quality receives the same treatment from the studio. Naturally, there will be a lot of pressure on David Production's shoulders, but fans need not worry. Because the studio has always delivered top-notch adaptations, and Steel Ball Run will be no different.
