The Best Costume Options in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

A feature that has become a new tradition in The Legend of Zelda series is the variety of costumes the protagonist can try on. Starting with Triforce Heroes' focus on the different outfits the three Links can wear, clothing choice remains a staple in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.

Echoes of Wisdom is no different. Zelda can wear a variety of costumes and outfits that can be unlocked throughout her adventure. You only get two costumes in the main story, so there are a lot of costumes you're missing out on. Some of these costumes have abilities and others do not. So what is the best option?

8 disguise

cover art cape

Zelda from Echoes of Wisdom is in disguise and solemnly holds the Sword of Might in a dungeon.

The disguise outfit is probably the most iconic outfit associated with Echo of Wisdom, as it is prevalent in marketing materials and is the only option for the first half of the game. The cloak, designed to keep the princess of Hyrule incognito, was taken directly from the 'Moldy Smell' link.

Despite its dubious provenance, this costume does a good job of keeping Zelda's identity safe for the first half of the game, but as soon as you discover the other costumes, you'll never want to equip it again.

7 green tunic

Representative of the Triforce of Courage

Link posing at the start of Echoes of Wisdom wearing his signature green tunic.

Another costume that originally belonged to Link, the Green Tunic is the most difficult costume to unlock and remains the final reward for completing all the trials at the Slumber Dojo, west of Kakariko Village.

If you've ever wanted to be able to stay in the tunic Zelda wears when using the Sword of Might, this is the answer you're looking for, but you won't be able to unlock it until late in the game when all the trials have been completed. Available. This costume is difficult to obtain, so it's a shame that you can't get any buffs by wearing it.

6 customary attire

If you like the classic look you're used to seeing Zelda wearing in previous appearances throughout The Legend of Zelda history, it's worth putting in the effort to unlock the Customary Attire outfit.

Despite how iconic this costume is, it's actually easy to miss. This is because you must complete the prerequisite quest to unlock the side quest required to obtain this outfit in Hyrule Castle. Unlocking the custom costume is a heartwarming quest worth doing because it allows you to see more of the relationship between Zelda and her father.

5 stamp suit

Aside from Link's iconic green tunic, the other most awkward costume to unlock is the Stamp Suit. If you keep your eyes peeled while exploring Hyrule, you will no doubt come across the Stamp Guy after interacting with the first stamp stand.

Each time you fill out a stamp card, Zelda will receive a unique gift, and if you have trouble finding all 25, you'll receive a costume from Stamp Guy himself. Stamp Guy is a strange new character added to the Zelda series (seems to be a Tingle replacement), but his goofy costume is one of the funniest options for giving Zelda more melodramatic cutscenes.

4 royal travel attire

Mid-game switch-up

After making your way through the first four dungeons of Echoes of Wisdom, you can finally clear Zelda's name and the hero will no longer have a reason to hide his face as he travels around Hyrule. In return for advancing the game to this point and progressing the story to this point, you receive royal travel clothes as a gift from the king.

This costume offers a unique look compared to previous appearances while retaining iconic elements of the design, such as Zelda's color palette. It's unfortunate that this fantastic look doesn't provide any special buffs. Otherwise it's perfect.

3 cat clothes

feeling like a cat

One of the more interesting side quests in Echoes of Wisdom tasks you with helping an old man in Kakariko Village track down his lost cat, and requires you to acquire a cat suit that allows you to talk to help you find the missing cat. With all the cats you interact with throughout the game.

You can keep the adorable costume after completing the quest, and while talking to cats is by no means the most useful ability, it does provide unique lines of dialogue you can't get any other way.

2 dancing costume

On your way to Gerudo Village, you'll find a respite from the desert at an oasis. The main activity here is to assist the researcher in the mango harvesting mini-game. If you advance far enough in the story, she will give you a final test and reward you with a dancing costume when you complete it.

Fittingly, as a reward for the mini-game that requires liberal use of Zelda's turning ability, this costume will give Zelda a wider turning radius. This ability is situationally useful and allows you to deflect certain small projectiles, so the passive buff for this is appreciated.

1 silk pajamas

fast healer

After clearing Zelda's name, when you return to Gerudo Town you will receive a new test from Donna, who tasks the princess with testing the vault's new guard.

With the power of the Tri-Lord, this test will not cause much trouble, and opening the main chest of the vault will give you Silk Pajamas as a reward. These pajamas allow you to heal Zelda much faster than usual in bed, and are perfect for in-battle healing if you don't have Smoothies stocked up.
