Since launch, Pokemon Legends: ZA players have found ways to increase their chances of finding shiny Pokemon. Some of these methods are legal. Some may border on exploitation.
One of the most popular methods, “Spawn Overlord” has been the centerpiece of many brilliant hunting adventures to date. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and with the release of Pokémon Legends: ZA version 2.0 and the Mega Dimension DLC, that method has been removed from the game.
Spawn Overload Shiny Hunt no longer exists in Pokémon Legends: ZA.
The “Spawn Overlord” shiny hunting method has seen players trick Pokemon Legends: ZA into populating multiple spawn points in the same general location at the same time. Six Alpha Pokémon could spawn under the tower in Wild Zone 20, three Chespins could spawn in Wild Zone 17, and other sections of Wild Zone 20 could be overloaded, allowing the likes of Charmander and Tepig to spawn regularly.
This method survived a few early updates, but is now deprecated with the release of the Mega Dimension DLC.

Good luck to you, trainers.
This news was first reported by Papa Jefè, a prominent YouTuber who has created numerous guides on how to maximize spawn overload. This video has been viewed tens of thousands of times (including by myself) with detailed information on how to overload various sections of the Legends: ZA map.
Sharing the news, he said, “Early testing shows that spawn overloading has indeed been patched. Please let me know the results of your own testing. But I can't get the extra spawns to appear on Z20, Z17, Turbo Tree, etc. I've tried known methods of working on the Switch 1 and Switch 2 versions.”
In general, it's a good idea to not update your game and leave it on an older version. However, this method requires you to quit Legends: ZA multiple times so the game will update automatically. However, you can disconnect your Nintendo Switch from the internet at any time and bypass the update. Whatever happens, it's a huge blow to the Shiny Hunter.
I just tested the method. If you already have an overloaded area, it will remain that way even after you update the game. A new overload could not be completed.
