Rooted in Christian moral teachings, they represent the major flaws of the human soul. They have been around for thousands of years, from ancient times, even before Christianity to ancient Greece. Over time, these sins have evolved into many different forms, from Dante's Divine Comedy to modern interpretations like Fullmetal Alchemist and The Seven Deadly Sins.

But now the real question is: What if the Seven Deadly Sins were represented in a video game? Here are seven video games that best represent this infamous sin.

Kratos, God of War, is practically a walking embodiment of pride. We're talking about the kind of pride that slaps God in the face. His inability to access his past and his ongoing battle with the gods shows a blind pride that leads him to destructive actions.

His pride forces him to challenge not one, but two myths. Whether he is a Greek god or a Norse god, Kratos is unstoppable. Even if he tries to put an end to his violent past, he makes an irreversible decision because he feels he must protect his son Atreus. God of War perfectly represents Kratos' internal battle against pride and his long, painful search for redemption.

If ever there was a game that captured pure rage, it's The Last Of Us Part 2. Ellie's journey progresses into a rage-filled spiral of revenge, her rage consuming everything and everyone around her. Like the souls wandering in a cloud of smoke in Dante's Inferno, Eli is blinded by his own anger and unable to see the destruction he leaves behind. Her desire for revenge only alienates her from the people she cares about.

In the first game she was sunny, fun and energetic. But Joel's devastating loss becomes the spark that fuels an endless cycle of revenge. Eventually, Ellie finally breaks the cycle, but at the cost of being left alone.

5 Exciting literature club!

At first glance, it looks like an exciting literature club! It seems like a cute high school literature club simulation. But the deeper you dig, the clearer it becomes that this is a psychological horror game with a disturbing story, and no character embodies jealousy better than Monica.

Monica knows she has no romance options, and that awareness consumes her. She breaks the fourth wall to make you, the player, her true love. Envy makes you do terrible things, like literally deleting competitors from your game files. Her jealousy reaches a point where you, the one behind the screen, rather than the main character, become the only 'real' thing in her virtual world. Let's just say she's a bit of a red flag…

Longing perfectly captures the concept of sloths and targets you, the player. You control Shade, a small creature tasked with waiting 400 days for the King to awaken. Yes, it's actually 400 days. With no clear goal and no interaction with other creatures, you wander at a snail's pace through dark, empty caves.

Everything in this game moves slowly. quest? slow. Movement speed? More slowly. Even interacting with the world takes an eternity. Apathy is built into our core mechanisms, forcing us to decide how to spend our time. Let me know how it goes after a year.

3 little nightmare

Few games capture binge-watching in as bizarre a way as Little Nightmares. From the mood of anxiety to the theme of wanton consumption that dominates the world, gluttony is everywhere.

Maw is the perfect expression of this sin. A ship filled with bizarre and grotesque guests, constantly gorging and devouring everything in sight. The game's protagonist, Six, is also not immune to binge eating. Her hunger becomes increasingly insatiable and unsettling as the game progresses, culminating in a shocking moment that highlights the darker side of human nature.

2 Red Dead Redemption 2

In Red Dead Redemption 2, greed is the downfall of almost every character, including Arthur Morgan. The Dutch van der Linde gang starts out with what they think are noble intentions, but greed and the pursuit of wealth soon take over.

Dutch is so blinded by his desire for more that he can't let go of his dreams even when everything falls apart around him. Caught in the middle of this chaotic maelstrom, Arthur must choose whether to save himself or fall deeper into the life of an outlaw. His fate is in your hands. Because his tuberculosis makes him realize that his time is short and forces you to make a decision. Will he meet the end of salvation, or will he die of greed?

1 grand theft auto 5

In the case of Grand Theft Auto 5, this game is synonymous with excess: power, sex, money, drugs, all in one game. From flashy cars, bank robberies to strip clubs, Grand Theft Auto 5 embodies every aspect of lust. The three main characters, Trevor, Michael, and Franklin, navigate the temptations of Los Santos, a city designed to lure them into a life of evil and corruption.

Everything is for sale and everything is available for purchase. But as you play the game, you will realize that there are consequences to giving in to lust and desire.
