Reunion Merch states that this is the “definitive entry” in the series.

Forbidden Planet is introducing a new line of Life is Strange merchandise to coincide with the upcoming release of Reunion. It boldly claims to be the “final installment” of the entire series.

We may have all rolled our eyes at the Avengers-style “Max Caufield will return” message at the end of Life is Strange: Double Exposure, but at least Reunion appears to be taking its role as Max and Chloe's endgame seriously. One of the key messages about Reunion since it was released is that it will conclude Pricefield's story once and for all.

You could argue that Max and Chloe's story was already wrapped up after Bae or Bay, but Reunion wants to take it one step further with one final adventure for the two. You might think this would leave the series wide open for future entries, but Forbidden Planet seems to think it wraps up the Life is Strange games as a whole.

Forbidden Planet says Life is Strange: Reunion is the final game in the entire series

“It's strange as I approach the final installment of my life…”

Earlier this week, Forbidden Planet announced a new line of Life is Strange merchandise that will be released on June 1st to celebrate the release of Reunion. This merchandise is interesting because it appears to be based on the original game rather than Reunion, making it more of a throwback to Max and Chloe's first outing.

But the interesting aspects of the new Life is Strange product don't end there. As Twitter user AdnanRiaz9 points out, the “Life Is Strange: Cushion: Whirlwind” listing has an interesting description that claims Life is Strange: Reunion is the “final installment” in the series.

We've heard a lot about Reunion being the end of Max and Chloe's story, but wrapping up the series as a whole is much more drastic. This has not been confirmed by publisher Square Enix or developer Deck Nine, so it is likely a misunderstanding or mistake on the part of Forbidden Planet. Considering the TV show is in the works, that seems like the most likely outcome.

But if this isn't a mistake, it means Square Enix is moving away from the Life is Strange series. That's not really surprising, as Double Exposure was reportedly a disappointment in both sales and reviews, and Deck Nine suffered multiple layoffs.
