His simple playstyle of absorbing enemy bubbles to unleash a beam of mass destruction may seem straightforward at first glance, but there are many nuances to making the most of Hydro Dragon's power.

Neuvillete's best teammate

Purina
Arguably the best support unit in the game, providing massive buffs in addition to off-field DPS. But as good as she gets along with everyone, her kit seems tailor-made for the Noubillette buff, making her almost a must-have for the best Noubilette teams.

This is because of how Furina's Fanfare Stacks work. You will need a healer to maximize the buff. However, Fontaine characters, especially Neuvillette, have enough self-healing and HP drain to run Furina without a healer as long as you have Eternal Tome or Prototype Amber.

Make the most of your Dragon Glory past stacks

Neuvillette
's passive deals massive bonus damage when running characters of different elements together. However, without his C1, you have to choose whether to place Furina with him or maximize the stack.

There are more nuances in most cases, but Furina is generally improved enough to warrant giving up a stack. Plus, if you know what enemy you're fighting, you can stack them all without having to have four other elements on your team. You can do this because reactions to enemies with self-harm auras, such as slimes, still count towards the Past Dragon's Glory stack.

Don't overuse your DMG bonus

Anyone who has been in the Genshin community for a while knows that DMG bonuses are better than ATK, HP, or other stats and provide a bigger DPS boost. However, for certain characters, like Neuvillette, there are cases where other stats may be better enough that an HP goblet will outperform a Hydro DMG bonus goblet.

Genshin's damage formula is multiplicative. This means that exceeding one statistic will result in worse returns. For a very simplified example, if your ATK is 100 and your CRIT DMG is 50, you would deal 100(ATK) x 50(CRIT DMG) damage to get to 5000.

Increasing this CRIT DMG by 50% doubles the damage to 1000.

However, if you add 50% more CRI damage, it will only reach 1500 instead of doubling it. This is how diminishing returns work in Genshin Impact!

This is especially true for the Furina team. Her buffs also add to the same multiplier as her DMG bonus, and Neuvillette's passive is already giving her a huge Hydro DMG bonus due to her high HP. Reaching the 200% DMG bonus is very easy. This may not be as good as better stat balancing.

Spinning Noubilette

Noubilete is very powerful both single target and AOE, so she doesn't need any niche tricks to boost her area damage. But those tricks exist and elevate Neuvillette from a good AOE unit to the best unit in the game.

Managing His Interruptions

Noubillet has enough damage to take out enemies, and enough HP and self-healing to survive without defensive options. However, both damage and healing are locked behind his charge attack, which can be cut off prematurely if Nuvillette gets hit.

Newvillette being a hyper carry means he adapts well to external buffs. However, since he is an HP scaler and a hydro character, it means he can't take advantage of many great buffs, but he can use powerful off-field sub-DPS characters like Fischl. This makes it difficult to know whether to use the buffer with him or an off-field damage dealer.

Unfortunately, there is no good answer. Because it depends a lot on the build of Neuvillette and other characters. For example, if you have a highly invested Xiangling, replacing your buffer with her will increase your overall DPS. However, replacing a lv 90 Kazuha with a lv 70 Fischl will result in a huge damage loss. Neuvillette's Top DPS Team

Furina is Neuvillette's strongest team. There isn't much to argue about there. However, it can be confusing as to which character to put in these two. There are many ways to create a good Noubillet team, but there are two compositions that are better than the rest.

The first is the best Noubillet team for F2P players because it doesn't require any constellations. However, it still consists of four 5-star units: Noubillette, Purina, Xilonen, and Kazuha. This team works because Furina and Neuvillette are both Hydro characters that deal ridiculous amounts of damage. So, adding two buffers to your team to boost Hydro will make both of them stronger, while Furina will also boost Neuvillette additionally.

Other teams need C1 Chiori and once again they need Xilonen. This team lowers Neuvillette's own DPS, but Xilonen also buffs Chiori's damage, increasing her overall DPS compared to the Kazuha variant.

Especially for the Furina team: Prototype Amber.

Neuvillette has many great weapon options where a good CRIT or HP stat stick will work. However, if you are playing a Neuvillette-Furina team, placing Prototype Amber on Neuvillette may be better than many other options that seem more advantageous.

Xilonen is one of the best buffers in Genshin Impact, but he also heals with Elemental Burst. Because of this, if you're running both Furina and Xilonen with Neuvillette, you don't need Prototype Amber and can instead use more destructive options like Widsith.

This is because Furina usually requires a healer to function, resulting in an overall team DPS loss. However, by equipping Noubillette with Prototype Amber, you can fully build up Purina's Fanfare through its passive healing ability combined with Noubillette's personal HP drain and sustain while providing energy to the entire party. This allows you to use the remaining two team spots on characters like Kazuha or Xiangling without worrying about healing, and allows your party members to focus a little more on their energy recharge stats.

Canceling animation

Nuvillet's Special Charge Attack takes time to recharge normally, but you can eliminate the wait by absorbing drops of source water summoned using elemental skills or bursts. But there is a way to make it even faster, creating a faster hydro pump.

To perform a Neuvillette animation cancellation, simply hold down the left mouse button (or attack button) and immediately release it. Skips the absorption animation and immediately fires a special attack. The time gained isn't much, but with rotation the difference becomes quite significant.
