Pokemon Pokopia leak suggests it will be set in post-apocalyptic Kanto.

Pocopia is a cozy game unique to Pokemon. Following games like Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley, you can set up an idyllic small town for your Pokémon by building various structures, farms, activity centers, and everything else you need for a town full of 'Mons'. However, fans have a dark conspiracy theory about it.

The reveal trailer hinted that humans have been missing for some time. Ditto opens his own Pokéball in what appears to be an abandoned house and discovers the owner's old Pokémon Pokédex. Other Pokemon also showed the passage of time with moss and lush growth here and there. This led to the theory that Pocopia is set in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity has long since disappeared. However, a recent leak may have confirmed this fact.

Pokopia is set in post-apocalyptic Kanto.

As Kotaku discovered, the leaked Pokopia map is set in the Kanto region, but appears to be overrun by the elements. The leak was translated by trusted source Centro Leaks and revealed the status of each area of Kano, all influenced by things commonly seen in post-apocalyptic settings.

Why did it take Nintendo so long to make a game like Pokemon Pokopia?

Pokemon Pokopia seems like an easy slam dunk for Nintendo, so why did it take so long to make such a game?

For example, the Husha region is “a dry, fertilizer-free field,” while the Vermilion region is an “electric port with seasonal rains.” But the deadliest of these is the Saffron area, which is characterized by “clusters of buildings covered in vegetation.” Things get even worse in the DLC area, which includes 'Flooded City with Hidden Treasure' and 'Rotten Tower Reaching Heaven'.

Add all this to the fact that there are no humans in sight, and it feels like a terrible tragedy has occurred in Kanto, leaving them all alone, or something much worse. Of course, the game trailer doesn't mention any of this and just maintains the same happy and cheerful tone as always. Perhaps a knowledge item will appear in Pocopia that will tell us exactly what happened to the world.

But one thing is certain: once humans disappear, Pokémon will rule the world.
