Pokemon Legends: The Hardest Shiny to Find in ZA

If catching unusual colored versions of your favorite Pokemon is fun, Pokemon Legends: ZA offers plenty of fun through accessible shiny hunts. However, even with relatively obtainable shiny charms and hunting down densely populated wild areas, finding some of the rarest sparkles in Pokemon Legends: ZA will take time and effort.

Despite their rarity, there are ways to obtain these Shiny Pokémon more reliably if you're willing to invest the time into 1,000 battles in a specific setting, especially between Shiny Charms. Compared to their peers, these are the rarest and shiny spawn in Pokemon Legends: ZA.

Drampa

Drampa appears in Pokémon Legends ZA.

Drampa is one of the rarest spawns in Pokemon Legends: ZA, so encountering the shiny form of this Pokemon is equally difficult. But knowing that this Pokemon only spawns during the day in Wild Zone 19 will help you avoid wasting time hunting it at night.

Even if you target hunting during the day, Drampa is not guaranteed to spawn and usually requires a few resets. Add to this the fact that there is only one Drampa spawn point, and you have a recipe for frustration if your goal is to shine hunt these rare spawn points.

Sligu

Pokemon Legends: Sliggoo location on ZA map.

Speaking of annoyingly rare spawns, Sliggoo can be one of the hardest to randomly encounter due to its limited location and weather requirements. Sligoo only spawns during rain in the area above the Nouveau Cafe in Bleu Sector Five.

Sliggoo's catch rate is one of the lowest in the game, and even with Quick Ball, your chance of catching it is less than 1%.

There are only a few spawn locations in sewer areas adjacent to water where both Gummi and Sligu can spawn, with Sligu being the much rarer option. If you're lucky enough to get a glowing egg, good luck. You should save before trying or prepare for heartbreak.

Beldum

Two Beldums spawn, one shiny in Pokemon Legends: ZA.

If you're building a strong late-game team that offers both style and power, hunting down Beldum is worth it despite this Pokemon's rarity. However, Beldum's rarity comes with a caveat. That's because this Pokemon won't appear until you've progressed through a significant portion of the story and unlocked the Lysandre Cafe.

Since there aren't many options for Beldum spawns, this Pokemon's shiny is rare and requires a specific setup to hunt. You'll need to enter the room where Beldum spawns, then quickly travel to where the Lysandre Cafe begins. Then use the yellow teleporter in the room at the bottom right of the map, right next to the starting room. Jumping back and forth will allow you to farm shiny Beldum spawns.

You'll need to listen to Beldum's cry to see if the Pokémon will spawn and respawn.

Prokey

Froakie sitting atop a pillar in Pokemon Legends: ZA.

Froakie appears early in the game as a single reward for completing the side mission A Challenge From Froakie. However, if you want to farm Shiny Froakie, you'll need to go to Wild Zone 16. There you'll find a lone Froakie spawn atop a pillar in the center of the area.

The easiest way to farm these sparkles is to constantly fast travel to the Wild Zone, but with a single spawn it will still take a while to get the sparkles. Luckily, Froakie is easy enough to evolve into Greninja once he finally gets his sparkle, so all the hard work goes into the front for this shiny hunt.

Dratini

A trainer is sneaking up on Dratini in Pokemon Legends ZA.

Dratini is one of the rarest spawns in Pokemon Legends: ZA, so farming this shiny can be a huge pain. Especially if you don't know where to look. However, if you head to the rooftops of some areas, such as Jaune Zone 3 or Magenta Zone 8, you'll see a lone Dratini running around.

Unfortunately, growing glitter on a rooftop is a bit inconvenient. Because the only way to farm glitter is to expect it and run away far enough for it to respawn. You'll get one eventually, but with a single spawn point it'll take you hours to get one, even with Shiny Charm.

Charmander

Charmander running towards you in Pokemon Legends: ZA.

Charizard is one of the most powerful Pokémon in ZA, and you'll have to wait a long time before you have a chance to hunt the shiny Pokémon. As you progress towards the end of the game and unlock Wild Zone 20, you will finally have access to the Charmander spawn.

Hunting Charmander remains a challenge. This is because you have to either use the bench method (rest on the bench to change the time and reset the spawn) or repeatedly fly to Wild Zone 20 and then run to where the Charmander spawns and see if it glows.

fossil

Looking at sail fossils in Pokemon Legends: ZA.

Fossils are one of the most consistently difficult Shinies to farm for two main reasons:

  1. Shining charms cannot increase your odds.

  2. In order to farm efficiently, you need to have a lot of money.

Fossils cannot change their glowing odds in any way, so the ratio remains constant at 1 in 4,096. Additionally, you need to buy a fossil and take it to a Pokémon lab to see if it glows. You can do this all at once, or with as many people as you can handle.

The glowing color is determined when the fossil is in your inventory, so you'll need to reload it before purchasing it.

If you're already rich, this may be one of the least labor-intensive shiny hunts in the game, but the setup and multiple layers of RNG make it a huge challenge for the rest of us.

fennekin

A shiny Fennekin Hunt is underway in Pokemon Legends: ZA.

Fennekin might be the most annoying shiny Pokemon to hunt in Pokemon Legends: ZA. This is because the spawn points are inconvenient, the Pokémon is capricious, and there is only one location to farm it. Once you make the troublesome journey to the rooftop in Wild Zone 18, you'll find Fennekin wandering alone on the rooftop.

One advantage about these spawns that love to run away is that you can basically farm them AFK by waiting on the ledge for the Fennekin to respawn and the shiny thing to appear. The method is relatively low-effort, but it's extremely slow and frustrating, so prepare for a brutal glowing hunt.
