No matter how much the Pokemon series progresses, we can't forget our first experiences and the first starters we chose. For many of us, our first Pokémon was one of the Kanto starters, and this Pokémon Pokemon Legends: ZA.
The downside is that you can only get one of the Kanto starters unless you find a trading partner willing to part with your precious 'mon. If you're not sure what to choose, here's all the information you need.
How to get the Kanto Starter
After defeating Rida As part of the eighth main mission, you will receive a call from Mable. New side mission 'A Call from Mable'. travel Pokémon Research Center located south of Lumiose City. And then head to the director's office.
There, your three Kanto starters (Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle) will happily await you. This side mission is simple: Please select one.
At the time of writing, there appears to be no other way to obtain Kanto starters in-game other than trading. This may change as DLC is released, so we will update this article as needed in the future.
Which Kanto starter should you choose?
It's always a difficult choice when you have to choose between Pokémon. Ultimately, All three are solid additions to your team, so choose whichever you like best.
However, depending on which starter you choose for Legends: ZA at the start, you may lean towards balancing your team, or Mega Evolution may play a role in your decision, so we've added some additional information about each below.

Charmander is best choiceas it provides Two different Mega Evolutions with two different duel types: Mega Charizard Y or Mega Charizard X. Not only perfume Powerful Pokemon to have on your team.
You can purchase Charizardite Y or X. At Quasartico Inc. It is located on Autumnal Avenue in the northwest section of Lumiose City. 240 Mega Fragments each. You can get these after the 10th main mission, 'Secrets of Mega Evolutions', which means you'll have access to two new Mega Evolutions very quickly, making Charmander an excellent choice.

Squirtle is another solid choice. Added a powerful water type for your teamAlthough it only provides one Mega Evolution – Mega Blastoise.
Like Charizardite, Blaistoisite can be purchased. At Quasartico Inc. for 240 Mega Fragments After the 10th main mission ‘Secret of Mega Evolution’.

Bulbasaur, like the other two Kanto starters, Makes a very powerful addition to your team. Bulbasaur's only flaw is not his fault, though. You cannot Mega Evolve as quickly as possible with other Kanto starters. In Legends: ZA, you're locked behind story progression.
Venus stone ~ no It is available from Quasartico Inc. and is instead obtained after completing main mission 29 'A Rogue Mega Venusaur'. Here you can defeat the Rogue Mega Venusaur and get the Mega Stone as a reward.
