no way Pokemon Firered and Leafgreen The player realizes his mistake too late, after making an exceptionally sparkling discovery after just 676 attempts. Pokemon Firered and Leafgreen It's not your typical look. pokemon At least by today's standards, the game isn't like that. This title was released in 2004 and arrived on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 just a few days ago, remaining largely unchanged. This means that most of the original glitches still work, and unfortunately, it also means that finding and catching shiny Pokémon is a very long and potentially frustrating process.
Unlike today's games Pokemon Firered and LeafgreenVersion exclusives can only be traded locally and not through online play, making it virtually impossible to complete Shiny Dex solo. Not only that, but the game has a lower chance of finding a shiny Pokémon, at 1 in 8,192 instead of 1 in 4,096, and there are no hold buff methods like the Masuda method for eggs or the shiny charm. Next is that each hunt must be at full odds. Even then, on average, you'll find two Shinies in modern games at the same time you'd find one in FireRed and LeafGreen. So a shiny starter is a valuable asset.
The best Pokémon to catch early in Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen
If you want to know which Pokemon are best to catch early on in Pokemon Firered and Leafgreen, this guide will give you plenty of information on essential party members.
Pokemon Firered and Leafgreen players reset ultra rare shiny find.
Twitter user @laurathelass shared a video on the platform of discovering an incredibly rare Shiny Bulbasaur while doing a soft reset at the game's launch, but accidentally soft reset the Shiny Bulbasaur itself immediately. Shiny starters in general are a big deal because the process can be rather long and arduous, and it actually hinders you from playing the game since you're stuck in Professor Oak's lab until you find yours. In this case, Pokemon Firered and LeafgreenThe starter is not shiny and has a 1/8,192 chance of being found shiny. Bulbasaur was discovered by @laurathelass after 676 resets, which was very fortunate.

But the poor Pokémon fan had just woken up when she found the shiny Bulbasaur, so between that and her muscle memory, she soft-reset the shiny thing she was looking for. This is a terrible loss, and while it can't be replaced, it can demoralize your hunt (and subsequent hunts) and make it take you much longer to find another. Some of my fellow players have been stuck in the lab since launch, and hunting starter Pokémon that shine usually results in this in other games as well. However, in the Gen 3 Kanto remake, the odds against Shiny Hunt are particularly bad, making losing Bulbasaur even more shocking and disappointing.
Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen fixed encounter Shiny Hunt
However, this is one of the few “fixed” shiny hunts in the game. What this means is that it's a shiny hunt with a guaranteed chance of getting a Pokémon, so it's not about the odds of a given Pokémon spawning, but rather the odds of making it shiny. The full list of fixed encounters is:
-
Starters from Professor Oak's lab
- Pokemon Firered and LeafgreenRoute 4 Magikarp sold for 500 PokeDollars
- Pokemon Firered and LeafgreenAbra, Clefairy, Dratini, Polygon, Cider (Fire Red), and Pinsir (Leaf Green) in the Celadon City game corner.
-
Eevee in the mansion
-
Hitmonchan or Hitmonlee from Saffron City's Fighting Dojo
-
Lapras from Saffron City Sylph Company.
-
Omanyte, Kabuto, and Aerodactyl from fossils in the Cinnabar Pokemon Lab
-
Articuno (Seafoam Islands), Zapdos (Power Plant) and Moltres (Mt. Ember).
-
Mewtwo in Cerulean Cave
-
Raikou, Suicune, Entei
-
Togepi Egg in the Water Labyrinth
You can pick out the best fossils, but Pokemon Firered and Leafgreen In general, although it is debatable, Omanyte is probably the better choice. Nonetheless, all three fossils can produce shiny Pokémon, but if they don't glow you'll need to reset them. On the other hand, the chance of a Togepi egg shining is determined when you obtain the egg, so you must save and hatch it before obtaining it. Nonetheless, like the lost Bulbasaur @laurathelass, these are all 1/8,192 shiny hunts and there's no way to make them any easier.
