Pirated Nathan Drake appears in new PSN horror game

It's been 10 years since Nathan Drake took players on an emotional journey in Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. The game served as the conclusion to a four-chapter journey of an adventurous treasure hunter. Lost Legacy, an Uncharted 4 spinoff featuring two separate characters, has been around for almost as long.

Some might say now is the time for a comeback. Others were completely satisfied with Nate's poignant conclusion. No matter which side of the aisle you are on, you maybe I wasn't expecting my son's return to be “We have Resident Evil in our house” and I honestly doubt Sony foresaw this either.

No, uh, yeah, that's definitely you, Nate.

Enter… Floor 28: Outbreak. Does this sound the same after 28 days? exorbitant! I think so, so let’s click buy. Looks like Resident Evil, right? exorbitant! I think so, so let’s click buy. Oh, smart consumer, weren't you fooled by the little scam I mentioned earlier? Here's one more. Isn't that Nathan Drake from Naughty Dog's hugely successful Uncharted franchise? exorbitant! I think so, so let’s click buy.

At least the only thing I can imagine was what was going through studio Witenovastudio OÜ's minds when they released this piece. 28 Floors: Outbreak is available to add to your wishlist right now. playstation networkBecause the developers clearly didn't read anything about Icarus and the sun. While the screenshots mostly show the protagonist reaching out to do something dramatic, like saving a scary-looking test sample (press x) or rescuing an injured doctor, the cover photo (the one everyone will see first) shows Sir Francis Drake's evil descendant helping the aforementioned doctor through a hall of horror.

28 Floors: Outbreak also includes amazing images like the one you see above. It shows the hero wrapping a bandage around his wrist that was previously soaked in blood. You can really feel the passion. Over at ResetEra, people are tearing Outbreak to pieces, and if you squint you'll find evidence that I was genuinely commenting on this disastrous video game just hours before I decided to write about it in a vaguely professional manner.

I'm not sure what Witenovastudio OÜ thinks is going on here. Sony shot down Lights of Motiram, a Horizon clone. Is there a bet on the table that we won't go after a game that looks nothing like Uncharted except for a very blatantly ripped off protagonist? What do I think? maybe? Or are the developers truly optimistic that PlayStation won't bother protecting the image of one of the most historically important fictional characters in its decades-long history?

Uh, 28 Floors: Outbreak is, um, ostensibly scheduled for release in 2027. I'm not getting my hopes up, Nate.

Groudon Colosseum

A year later, Pokemon fans are still waiting for Colosseum on Switch 2

Instead we got a sequel (XD: Gale of Darkness), which is just as confusing.
