Gaming has always been a hobby of choice. From the early days of choosing which games to put in your arcade to the present, your biggest decision is deciding which gaming system to buy for your home setup.
The gaming space is more competitive than ever. Nintendo, Xbox, PlayStation, and more are all competing for your loyalty with console exclusives and new features. In the meantime, PC continues to offer the most customizable experiences. So which gaming platform do Ranters pledge allegiance to?

The message is very clear. Game Rant readers are PC gamers! While competition between consoles remains fierce, recent polls have shown PCs with a commanding lead, with more than 60% of voters planning to play games on laptops and PCs this year. This isn't surprising considering what accessible PCs offer in terms of custom builds and circumvents most console exclusive restrictions, but it's surprising how favored the platform is.
Among consoles, Sony takes the top spot as people decide to enjoy their favorite throwbacks in 2026 with PlayStation systems. Interestingly, this is closely followed by “Other”, which can encompass things like VR systems, portable consoles (except the Nintendo Switch/Switch 2), or retro gaming platforms. So it's nice to see gamers still opting for variety!
Perhaps the most surprising and somewhat disappointing result is the low number of Nintendo players. Given that Nintendo is the latest console provider to release a new product, it's somewhat surprising to see such little representation for Switch and Switch 2 players. The Switch 2 got off to a somewhat shaky start to 2025, so Nintendo will be hoping to turn things around with a few big releases in 2026.
With the debate resolved, we turn our attention to the world. Lego and pokemon! It was recently announced that the two giants are collaborating, so which set intrigued you the most?
