Famine officially declared in Sudan

JEDDAH: Sudan's civil war and aid restrictions have led to a famine in North Darfur, food security experts said on Thursday. The finding, which is based on an internationally recognized standard called the Integrated Food Security Level Classification, is only the third time famine has been declared since the system was established two decades ago.
