Monkey D. Luffy is the charismatic leader of the Straw Hat Pirates. Despite his size, Luffy's dreams overpower the giants. He wants to become King of the Pirates, a feat previously accomplished by the legendary Gol D. Roger. Luffy is much younger than Roger was when he decided to become the Pirate King. But Luffy's age never mattered to him. He defeated opponents like Kaido, Doflamingo, Cracker, and Katakuri, making them all more experienced.
One Piece Luffy's 9 Most Hated Characters
It's not easy for Luffy to truly hate someone. But everything goes to waste when Luffy pushes him too far and causes harm to his friends and family.

This post contains spoilers for One Piece.
Punching the Celestial Dragon
Showed hatred toward their oppressors
During the Sabaody Archipelago arc, Luffy and the Straw Hats witnessed the horrors committed by the Celestial Dragons. When they were inside the auction house, St. Charlos felt disgusted when he saw Hachi, the fishman. So he did what any Celestial Dragon would do in that situation, took out his gun and shot Hachi.
When the Celestial Dragon finally shot Hachi and celebrated. This made Luffy angry, and then he started walking slowly towards Charlos. The people inside the auction house clearly sensed that Luffy was up to something, but they never expected that he would actually hit the Celestial Dragon. Luffy's fist was not only a symbol of his friendship, but also a symbol of treason against the most powerful people in the world.
Hats off to Nami
A sign of love for one's colleagues
Nami and Luffy have always been close friends. In fact, they resemble a normal brother-sister relationship. But that wasn't always the case because Nami hated pirates, and who could blame her after what Arlong had done to her family and home? Not long after the Straw Hats took down Don Craig and his men, they learned how Nami had gone missing. After much thought, I found out that Nami had headed to Arlong's hideout.
One Piece: 6 Characters that Luffy Will Surpass Elbaf
Luffy will forever keep up with this One Piece character in Elbaf.
Nami got Arlong's Jolly Roger tattooed on her left shoulder, which served as a constant reminder of her struggle. When she finally had a breakdown, she started poking at her shoulder tattoo. Before the situation could get any worse, Luffy stopped her and placed a straw hat on her head. This incident shows how much he valued his colleagues enough to be willing to part with his beloved hat. Moreover, it has been proven that Luffy will go to extremes if someone makes his comrades cry.
Break the mirror in Whole Cake Island Ark
It showed Luffy's confidence in his own abilities.
Whole Cake Island was a big test for Luffy and his group. Not only did they invade Yonko territory, but they also split into two groups. One remained in Zou, and the other headed to Whole Cake Island to rescue Sanji. Luffy knew that Sanji would not leave his crew without a good reason, so he decided to track him down.
Throughout the arc, Luffy faced various challenges, but none as difficult as defeating the most powerful Sweet Commander, Charlotte Katakuri. The fight between the two took place inside the mirror world. Once they both entered the place, Luffy broke the only mirror leading to the mirror world as he did not want the villain to go after his crew.
Use the Conqueror's Haki to take down people at Marineford.
A symbol of Luffy's firm will
The Marineford arc was filled with fierce fighting, as the Marines decided to execute one of Whitebeard's top commanders, Portgas D. Ace. Luffy rushed to Impel Down and Marineford after hearing the news that Ace had been executed.
The 8 strongest One Piece characters who have never fought Luffy
For some reason, Luffy never had a major battle with any of these characters in One Piece.
While on the island, Luffy did his best to fight the villains. However, in terms of strength, there were many cases where it was superior to him. Moreover, because they had a numerical superiority, the situation continued to worsen, and at some point it seemed like Ace was going to die. But Luffy wouldn't let that happen. So he expressed his feelings and shouted at the top of his voice for the Enforcers to stop, which resulted in the release of the powerful Conqueror's Haki, knocking them down. The best thing about this incident is that it happened without Luffy knowing, as he couldn't even control the Conqueror's Haki.
Defeat Bellamy with a single punch
Proving how much Luffy cares about dreams
Bellamy was a callous brute who bullied those weaker than him. He even threatened the dreamers Masira, Shojo, and Montblanc Cricket. Not only did Bellamy take their gold, he mocked their dreams, which didn't sit well with Luffy at all.
When Luffy returned to Moke Town to confront Bellamy, he was in no mood to mess around. Bellamy took a few hits, but Luffy wasn't really fazed by it. Bellamy even attempted a special attack, but Luffy defeated him with one punch. What made Luffy even more angry was Bellamy making fun of other people's dreams.
Declined to submit to Rob Lucci
Evidence of Luffy's amazing resilience
Rob Lucci debuted in the Water 7 arc, attacking the Straw Hat Pirates and eliminating Nico Robin. Luffy tried to stop him, but CP9 agents subdued him.
After losing to Lucci, Luffy realized that he couldn't win with his current skillset. So he came up with two gears to defeat Lucci. Later in the Enies Lobby arc, the pirate fought Lucci again, this time giving the CP9 agent a run for his money. Eventually, Lucci gained the upper hand and began to dominate the fight. He hit Luffy several times, but Luffy did not fall. Luffy continued to stand until he delivered the final blow to Lucci, winning the fight.
Luffy uses Gear 5 for the first time
Used his fighting spirit to overcome the Yonko
The fight between Luffy and Kaido was truly fantastic. With the young pirate fighting against the mightiest creatures in the world, it was clear that he needed a solid power-up.
When Kaido attacked a distracted Luffy, it looked like a curtain to Luffy, but in reality it was quite the opposite. With that blow, Luffy awakened his Devil Fruit and was able to use Gear 5 for the first time. As a result of his new abilities, Luffy swung the pendulum in his favor and defeated Kaido.
