Eiichiro Oda one piece The comics are going strong in 2026, with the much-anticipated Elbaph arc reaching its peak over the past few weeks. As the stakes continue to rise after the Elbaph flashback, Monkey D. Luffy and Loki take center stage, with Imu stepping forward as the arc's main antagonist. Unfortunately, this exciting journey will have to be put on hold for a while as the comic is taking a two-week break. Eiichiro Oda's story will not be featured in the next issue of WSJ #19, but the manga's return date has already been confirmed, which has fans everywhere rejoicing.

April 5th is the final manga release date for Weekly Shonen Jump No. 19
Over the past few years, one piece I experienced a lot of relaxation. Some of the schedules were carried out suddenly due to Oda's unexpected health problems, but there are also schedules that fans are looking forward to. The break, scheduled for April 5, 2026, is the one most fans have seen coming from Mile 1, as it fits right into Oda's usual break schedule. This means that April 5, 2026 will be the final chapter of One Piece before taking a short break, and will be released in Issue 19 of Weekly Shonen Jump. Oda will eventually return in One Piece Chapter 1179 after taking a two-week hiatus from the story. This break certainly came at the worst possible time, with the exciting cliffhanger Oda left behind.
Eiichiro Oda's manga returns with episode 1180 on April 19.
Breaks are always disappointing for readers of Eiichiro Oda's stories. Especially when people like Imu are involved. Nonetheless, the hiatus starting on April 5 is no different from a normal Oda hiatus, so the One Piece manga will quickly return in two weeks. One Piece won't be appearing in Weekly Shonen Jump on April 12, but it will return on April 19, 2026 with chapter 1180, which may be the most anticipated release in recent years.

WIT studio's new One Piece anime has received a new update from Wit Studio's CEO George Wada.
Post-disruption release schedule analysis
One-piece breaks are always difficult to get through. Especially when Oda leaves things at the most exciting cliffhanger. However, as the story is scheduled to return in two weeks, the comic's solid progress is expected in the future. The good news is that unless something unexpected happens, there won't be another comic strip for a few weeks after 1179. After One Piece returns on April 19, Oda is expected to drop three chapters in a row before starting another serial.
April no longer includes rest weeks after Chapter 1179. This means that the following chapters include chapters 1180, 1181, and 1182. Breaks can be frustrating, especially if they happen often, but Oda needs a break between two chapters to regain his strength and continue this story.

Assessing key events to explore following the return of Elbaf Arc
that one piece The story of Elbaf Arc has been an incredibly exciting journey. Even at the beginning of the issue, Oda revealed major characters and lore through a mural of Harley and the introduction of Shamrock and Loki. With that being said, the story gets better and better, and although it may be hard to believe, that's because Oda exceeded every fan's expectations.
Most fans believed that Gunko-Imu would be the main enemy of the arc, but Imu herself has now decided to appear in Land of Giants. This will ensure that the chapter following the hiatus will be an exciting one with enormous stakes. Imu's arrival will be a historic moment for the One Piece manga as it marks the last antagonist of the story to actually make his move since his introduction in Reverie seven years ago.
There are still endless possibilities, including the defeat of the Straw Hat Pirates and the fall of Elbaf. Normally this arc would have been difficult to predict as it doesn't fit the usual structure that Eiichiro Oda follows, but that's what makes this arc so exciting, and after the break Oda will ramp up the intensity and deliver a surprising climax.
One Piece Chapter 1179 will be available to read on Manga Plus on April 5, 2026. The comic goes on a two-week hiatus immediately thereafter.
