Playmaker Brandon Wakeham has reportedly been arrested after police picked the 25-year-old former NRL player up at Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles training on Wednesday.

The former Bulldogs and Tigers half has not been charged but according to the SMH, Wakeham is suspected of possessing cocaine and supplying MDMA.

Wakeham signed with Blacktown this season, a NSW Cup feeder club to the Manly Sea Eagles, and had been named in the halves for the team’s game against the Bulldogs this weekend.

Wakeham played 15 games for the Tigers last season before making the move to Blacktown.

Prior to his stint with the Tigers, Wakeham appeared in 25 games for the Bulldogs from 2019-2022.

It’s the second drug-related incident to rock the NRL within the last month, after Sharks half Braydon Trindall was charged for failing an alcohol and illicit drugs road-side test on April 22.

Trindall could return for the Sharks in Magic Round this weekend pending an adjournment of his court appearance which is slated for Friday.

Trindall’s legal team have informed Cronulla that an adjournment is possible considering they are awaiting the results of a second drug sample.
