If you've never heard of Moo Deng, where have you lived? Tiny pygmy hippos have gone viral over the summer because they have the most chaotic energy, yet are also incredibly cute. The hippos drew such huge crowds at Si Racha's Khao Kheow Open Zoo that time restrictions were imposed on visitors.

Now, in a coincidence from No Man's Sky, players have discovered a small alien that somewhat resembles the world's most famous pygmy hippopotamus.

Weird and wonderful creatures are nothing new in No Man's Sky. There's a whole universe full of unexplained things, but this little thing discovered by Reddit user FatQuack might be the best in the game.

Described as “the cutest flying blob,” this creature doesn't necessarily resemble a Mudeng anatomically. It has more of a torso and more seal-like feet than the hippos native to Thailand. However, their shiny skin and big eyes radiate a very similar energy. I wouldn't be surprised if it started biting my leg or looked like it was about to face a full-blown crisis like the hippopotamus, whose name literally translates to 'firm pork'.

This isn't the first time Moo Deng has made an impact on video games. Late last month, the price of a hippopotamus calf from Final Fantasy 14 skyrocketed due to its resemblance to the real animal. Hippo minions have increased by over 1,000%, from 25,000 gil to around 300,000 gil.
