sims 4's Gallery has been a part of the game since January 2020, a little over five years after EA released the web version. It is designed to be a comprehensive hub where players can upload and download their in-game creations – from characters and rooms to entire houses and lots – allowing users to share content without having to rely on mods. Over time, as new features were introduced and content accumulated, recurring issues began to surface, sparking player frustration. Some are now calling for a complete overhaul of the gallery.
SimSearch is Coming to The Sims 4 Gallery
Maxis will soon begin to answer these complaints by introducing a new feature called SimSearch. The developer recently mentioned on Instagram Stories that the feature was already in beta, before quickly deleting the post. However, screenshots of the announcement were captured and sent to the Sims community. According to the German patch notes released shortly before the now-removed post, the feature was scheduled to launch on November 4th. sims 4 Update. The changelog has since been edited to remove all references to SimSearch, suggesting a last-minute delay.
SimSearch can support at least two modes:
The revised German patch notes list two SimSearch modes: Text-to-Image Conversion and Cross-Language Search, both of which are described as being in an experimental beta phase. Text-to-image uses neural network-based visual search to find gallery screenshots that match a user's query. Initially, searches will be limited to a single keyword, but this restriction will be lifted in a future update. Cross-language search allows players to search for content using their native language, greatly improving accessibility. Together, both modes aim to improve your experience of finding high-quality results. sims 4This is your gallery.
Maxis' now-deleted patch notes for SimSearch mode
- Cross-Language (Beta): Ideal for international simmers. In addition to searching for specific object names, hashtags, and descriptions, you can now search in your own language and see the same search results.
- Text to Image (Beta): Initially used with individual keywords. This search searches your gallery for matching images based on your search term. This efficient search opens up new areas of the gallery you may not have encountered before.
A more powerful and accessible search feature would be a potentially important addition to the Gallery, which fans have been calling for EA to improve for a long time. More broadly, the leaked features are consistent with EA's ongoing push to “power” The Sims Hub and other user-generated content platforms with AI, which the company has publicly promised will happen in September 2024.
SimSearch appears to have been left out of the November 4th patch at the last minute, but the fact that it's been around from the beginning makes it likely that it will be introduced soon. Like other changes discovered in Maxis' so-called “Laundry List” update, SimSearch should also be added for free. sims 4.
